Shenkuu for the win. I've always been in love with Japanese culture. BTW, I've finally created an account on the forums here, I've been putting it off for a while but since Altador cup is starting, I might as well make it now instead of just watching the forums with out my point of view for a couple more years.

My prediction is that Shenkuu and Roo Island will be the top teams.

Is Shenkuu Japanese or Chinese? I can't tell. I love Japanese culture as well. Still, I wanted to win rather than pick my favorite world team.

Well, NeoDex says "it takes it's design from both China and Japan". And I think I've read it somewhere else too. Probably been deep analyzed by some culture virtuosos :)

In reply to someone else's question:

Has anyone actually managed to score with the darigan yooyu? I haven't been able to score with it even once.

I have. It's really tricky to do: you essentially have to aim for one corner of the goal post (or even a bit past it; I'm still trying to figure it out), and it'll shoot off about 90 degrees from where you were aiming.

I need to play around with it a bit more to see exactly where you should be when you aim, and how far away from the goalie (sometimes he manages to catch the ball because I end up hitting him with it), but for now, this is what my set up usually looks like:

ETA: ...Ok, it looks like it might be bigger than 90 degrees. Or it's a random angle. :P

I have been able to, It's essentially easy actually, it will go the frontal opposite of where you shoot it meaning it will turn 90 degrees to the right of left depending where you shoot it, so all you have to do is turn quickly towards the goal keeping and then shoot. The hardest one I seem to find is the faerie ball, the only way I find shooting it is shooting it directly from the center towards the middle of the goal, that way it will curve around the goal keeper.

Hmm? You keep saying that Shenkuu will lose as it's a new-comer, and that's why you didn't chose it as your team. I still don't really understand why you seem so sure of this? :)
I must say I still know almost nothing about the Altador Cup (didn't participate last year), so are the teams very different in skill or something? And if I understood correctly, the number of supporters for each team doesn't matter either.

Oh man!

I signed up for Darigan again because I did last time and I'm loyal like that.

This is going to sound stupid though, and I HAVE looked on neopets, and I'm probably just missing a handy dandy "how to play" thing, but I can't remember which key to press to get all my team back in their original positions. It's meaning they all end up scrunched by the opposition's goal.

Anyone remember?
Thanks
Kat

I joined Shenkuu too. Last year I didn't participate in the Altador cup at all. I think I tried to play a game and I gave up. But this year everyone seems really excited about it returning, so I think I might try to get into this. Maybe I will learn to enjoy it as much as other people seem to.

Okay, I CANNOT play this game at all. :( I tried and tried but I can't score a single goal. (well I did actually manage to score against myself a few times >.<) I hate sports.

*sigh* Well maybe I can at least play the little support games or whatever they are and get a few measly points.

I have a question, once this goes live, If I start a game, am I playing against other people or is is just like any other game? Can I send the score once I am happy with it, or do you only get one shot to play the game?

You play against the computer disguised as the team you play. So it's not exactly a multiplayer game.

Oh and Meer, don't give up. Especially if you are going to join Shenkuu >_>. But here's a trick, All you gota do it hover over your teamate and charge the person holding the ball, once you get it, then go towards the goal then quickly turn where the goalie is not at and shoot, thats my best trick and works almost everytime except with the faerie ball.

I want to participate this year. I've read through a couple of these posts and I see that I need to practice that game in order to help whatever team I choose. Doesn't this start on the 5th? That should be enough time to get the hang of the game, at the very least.

I'm having trouble getting used to the Yooyus again. XD;

The Faerie one always seems to want to pass itself to the other team, God forbid I try to use the mutant one. Aand..I've learned to stay FAR away from the Clockwork Yooyu.

I may have trouble this year. >>;
