That and there are mutant pets involved...isn't that his trademark?

I don't know--it looks a bit like a mutant chia to me.

I've been wondering about that particular island for a while. It's good to think that something will happen with it soon. :)

Mmm, I remember when Shenkuu was discovered through the comic and not the map that most people believed that was where it would go, then...nothing happened :P

Here's hoping for a Sloth plot *fingers crossed*

(If I keep saying it enough, it'll have to come true)

Could the Lutari Talisman be part of an upcoming plot?

Sun Apr 15, 2007 4:03 pm

I haven't been here in some time and this may have been covered, but here's my thought:

The Lutari Talisman may be part of a future plotline, yea or nay or no ideas?

Reason being is the Lutari beads, of which I have a few at the moment. If in truth the Lutari Talisman does actually do something in the future, I suspect those beads are going to valuate right through the roof. On the other hand if the whole thing turns out to be something Lame, they are going to be cheap as dirt.

Any speculations out there? Anyone finding any hints?

I have no idea about the use of lutari beads as plot items. I can't think of how it would be directly involved in a plot, because they wouldn't do anything that required buying very expensive items. However, if there does end up being a lutar island plot, the function of the lutari talisman could be improved.

Even though it sounds like a good idea, the Lutari Talisman wont be part of a plot. Maybe in years down the track, TNT might reconsider opening up Lutari to all Neopia which may result in a plot. At the moment TNT are happy to leave Lutari as an island excessible to only those who sign up for Neopets Mobile.

The Talisman already serves a purpose - when you have filled your talisman, you get an increase in game scores and higher chance of random events, making the beads very expensive and hard to find right now, we don't need a plot to change that. :)

This petpage is all about the Talisman:

*cough* Mystery Island plot *cough*

Oh, my goodness, that was *horrible*. I've never seen something skyrocket in price so fast...only to plummet the next day when it was no longer needed. Not even for avvies!

...Besides, who wants peach jelly and a tagobo potion, anyways?

Mon Apr 16, 2007 3:48 am

I was on hiatus during the Mystery Island plot, but is it possible that they didn't realise how the price would skyrocket?

I was away during that Mystery Island plot, and at first I assumed that Moongewl meant the original discovery of Mystery Island back in 2000. Given that plot inflation happened back then--the totems required to go to Mystery Island were insanely expensive for months--I'd assume that TNT knew by the time of the more recent MI plot that plots cause inflation.

Both plots were extremely expensive...though at least you could get the totems by signing up with sponsors for the first one, if I remember correctly (same thing with the Ice Caves and Faerieland, if I remember correctly). The items you could get at those places were quite commodities in their time...can you imagine, Tiki Tack items worth something? ;) In the MI Volcano plot, there were several items that if bought and brought to the right place, advanced the plot. They were released in moderation, but people hoarded/inflated the price pretty quickly and made a bundle. The next day, TNT turned off that part of the plot and the prices plummeted in short time, but those who didn't do it could still participate. There was quite a bit of complaining about having items required to complete a plot part rather short on hand and the prices being so high with no reward for that part (my memories from that year are a bit hazy as I had a rather rough college semester then.) I know there were plot prizes based on who figured out the solution first, etc, but I don't remember about the steps along the way. Needless to say, I didn't get a hold of any of the items, as I wasn't particularly rich at the time.

Neopets is boring without plots and wars and ATM there isn't any.

The items were required to make the Tagobo Potion, which would free Jhuidah from the fish bowl and give you an avatar. That was a side quest to the actual plot, which did not require you to buy any items (although you needed to to get a hint, also a Tagobo Potion). I was like number 75 to finish the plot, and I won a Fruit Bomb, which I still have and use in battle (even though it is worth way more than what it does).

My ideas

Before I think while working on the Altador Plot or sometime then "A Mysterious Statue" appeared in Maraqua and I am like pretty sure that it is of the Darkest Faerie and since I like have the game Neopets and the Darkest Faerie I know that the Darkest Faerie was imprisoned underwater and was unimprisoned and that is where the game comes in but was once again imprisoned with an amulet. The name of the amulet slips my mind I thought it was the Amulet of Thilg and the neopedia's description of what happened to it seems to match why it was used but then again I haven't played the game in a little while and the picture of the amulet on the statue doesn't look quite like the Amulet of Thilg but could the statue possibly have to do with a plot of some sort? If not what is the statue there for? Or maybe the green jelly in jelly world? AND I am sorry if someone has already brought these up!
