To all of those interested in joining, there are no sign ups. You can just start playing right off the bat. If you need additional help, I am here most of the time and more than willing to try to help as much as possible.
Story as of now:

Tseng drops back to heal after the massive assault against him. Elena joins Auron in beating up Sol but still pokes him for hurting an ally. The Dark Trooper readies another attack.
Yoshi: Yoshi! [Trans: Let Hellfire rain upon our enemies and punish the wicked for their sins! Rejoice! The time of judgement is upon us!]
Rude: Shut up!
Rude dives at Yoshi to attack, but the shield around the Inactive members deflects his attack. Rude sails into the Dark Trooper causing -3 damage.
Yoshi: Yoshi. [Trans: Smite the unbeliever.]
The Dark Trooper growls and uses a Strafing Run to ‘smite’ all of Square Enix, except the Inactive Cloud and Aerith, for -1 damage each.

Sephiroth is trying to find O’Malley a new body so they can get to work. The current body is a 3PO-type droid.
O’Malley: A little prissy if you ask me
Sephiroth: Well, that was the last one. It is either one of the droids or back in Doc.
Doc: Even though you are rude. I don’t mind sharing.
Sephiroth, O’Malley: Shut up!
O’Malley: Why can’t I get one of the big boys?
Sephiroth:
Laughs. Not likely. We had them specifically shielded against you. It wouldn’t be wise to loose you in a WMD.
O’Malley: Oh poo. Well, I guess the annoying doctor is better than nothing.
Doc: See! I can be helpful. Just look at how I helped fix up Captain Falcon for you.
Captain Falcon walks up. He is waving his arms wildly since there is a strip of duct tape over his mouth.
Sephiroth: That is an improvement. Maybe you can ‘help’ Ridley with a lobotomy?
Doc: I’ve never done one of those before.... but I have played with my dad’s power tools!
Ridley squawks and keeps hiding on the ceiling.

Gilgamish and Yojimbo are leaning on the walls, panting. Gilgamish has used most of his weapons and is barely holding his Brotherhood Replica. Their allies have collapsed and are licking their wounds.
Gilgamish: We are evenly matched.
Yojimbo: Agreed. You are quite skilled.
Gilgamish: Since I have earned your honor, may I take my prize?
Yojimbo: Not likely.
Both try to lift their blades but cannot. A door opens to the room.
GM: Yojimbo. Gilgamish. How’s it going?
The GM walks over to a weapon rack and returns the HRB Cannon.
GM: See ya ‘round.
The GM walks out of the room and turns off the lights. There are two loud crashes as Yojimbo and Gilgamish collapse.
0500/1700 Rule: Regardless of when the last update occurred, you may make actions

Specials follow the same format where appropriate.
Specials and weapons should be used before regular attacks can be used.
Special users can defeat one 1 or 2 HP NPC of their choice in addition to their special use (meaning without targeting the NPC with the special).
Super Smash Attacks (SSA): SSA actions are powerful, character-specific moves with special effects. They can only be activated two ways and usually involve the character being removed from the game (see below) for a short time. The SSA use counter does not reset until all characters have used their SSA. To activate: either use a Smash Emblem or buy it with some points. They may not be ready at the start of the game, but I’ll finish them as soon as possible.
Removed from the Game (RFG): Unlike in Magic: The Gathering, this is not a permanent effect. Characters removed from the game cannot attack or heal but cannot be targeted. They return to play after a set amount of rounds. At least three characters will remain in play at all times.
Special Character - Gogo: Due to Gogo’s unique nature, I will post his information every round. If there are any questions, PM me, and I will willingly help.
Gogo cannot attack or heal. He is active every round. He has only one special which he uses every round.
Special: Mime: *Gogo copies the last action done (the post above this use). *Gogo’s user may choose new targets. *If a special was used, Gogo receives -3 damage in addition to the special’s effects. *Cannot mime SSAs or actions in the GM’s posts. *Cannot be the first action of the round. *If Gogo is not used, he automatically heals for +1 HP each round, but he starts with 30 HP at the beginning of the game. *He counts as male for gender related contests.

Hyrule: +90 points - Magic Sack - Members may use any weapon unlimited times (weapon changes user after each use unless user can do unlimited attacks) (Check item guide or with the GM for items)
Independent: +0 - None (duh, they have no team)
Defeated - Kongo Jungle: +20 - Monkey Friends - When a member is attacked, the attacker receives a -1 damage counterattack for every -2 damage dealt to member (counterattack is rounded down)
Mushroom Kingdom: +40 - Mega Mushroom - All members deal double damage for the rest of the round, but cannot use weapons. Negative side effects are doubled for members
Pokémon: +50 - Pokeball - A random, unused Pokeball is activated. Members are immune to the effects
Sephiroth: +60 - Summon Sephiroth - Either: a Guard Armor or Dark Trooper appear; or Sephiroth appears for the round and deals up to -20 damage distributed among the remaining characters.
Sonic: +60 - Hyper Sonic Speed - Members cannot be attacked for the rest of the round. Members may still attack.
Square Enix: +160 points - Job Change - Members may use any Dressphere that is currently not being used (Check Dressphere guide or with the GM for Dresspheres). Counts as a weapon action
Versus: +70 - Versus: Adrenaline Rush - Members may make unlimited actions. Special users may use their special twice (any given player may only use the special once)

Round 41 Announcements:
1:
Bracket B is Active! Bracket A is Inactive!
2: Special treat today. Since I have a long weekend, I am going to give out a BIG tribute day to Tuskegee University. Three topics will be covered, including one of my idols. Hope you like them.
3: Today’s subject: Tuskegee University. Established in 1881, the university is one of the most famous predominantly Black schools in the US. Creation of the school as a major goal of Lewis Adams, a former slave, and George Campbell, a former slave owner. During the Reconstruction Era, both disliked the high level of illiteracy of the recently freed slaves. With some political help, they were able to get funding to start the school and were able to hire Booker T Washington as the first head of the college. Under Washington’s guidance, the college began to take shape and instill its basic tenets of self-reliance, perseverance, and education. Washington even hired George Washington Carver as one of the college’s teachers. Washington used his network of philanthropist contacts to raise funding and interest in the school. In the school’s history, it has not only lead to the advancement of educating African-Americans but to helping every community, especially in the Southern US. The school is also famed for being the training point for the Tuskegee Airmen during WWII. Today, the school is one of the top in the nation and has many famous alumni.
4: Today’s subject: Booker T Washington. Born a slave, Washington worked manual labor, even after being freed, until he was sixteen when he started his formal education. He worked his way through school and even attended a seminary before starting a teaching career. When Tuskegee University was founded, Washington was asked to be the leader of school, a position he held until his death in 1915. He was active in orating and politics during his life as well. He served to advice politicians as well as expressing himself of issues facing Blacks during Reconstruction. He was able to lead to a 750% increase in the endowment for Tuskegee University during his tenure. List of firsts include first African-American to be a guest of the US President (thank you Teddy) and first African-American on a USPS postage stamp.
5: Today’s subject: George Washington Carver. Despite being a chemist and I a physicist, he is easily on my top five favorite scientists. He had a tough life as a young slave and even getting basic education was a bit of a chore. When seeking higher education, Carver was rejected from one school in Kansas due to race but was accepted into a school in Iowa. After a time studying art, Carver was encouraged to pursue a more lucrative career and later transferred to Iowa State as their first African-American student and later their first African-American teacher where he was studied and practiced agriculture. When Booker T Washington came to him with a teaching position at Tuskegee University, Carver gladly accepted the role as head of the agriculture department, despite the massive pay cut and lack of equipment at the time, and held the position until his death in 1943. Carver still faced much criticism for how he ran his department and teaching style, but worked through them. His rise to fame came with his work to help poor farmers, of all races, in the South. Carver was a big advocate of crop rotation to help revitalize the soil after too many seasons planting cotton. After a bad year for cotton, even the farmers previously against Carver began the practice of crop rotation that he had taught. (One can say that without Carver getting more peanut farmers in the South, Carter might not have been president
). Carver also lead the field in the finding of new use and application for many plant crops, including, but not limited to: peanuts, sweet potatoes, and soybeans. Note: he DID NOT invent peanut butter. (That was invented by a white dentist to give his patients much needed protein). Carver was an ally of two Roosevelt-ian and a Coolidge-ian Presidents. He was chosen as a representative of peanut farmers to speak before the US Congress. Many, if not most, of the plant products he developed are still in wide use today, including many car parts on many Ford cars. Carver’s legacy lives on with all the inventions he created and his inspiring story. While doing research on a different topic, I read that one of the reasons we even have Black History Month is thanks to the work of George Washington Carver as proof that there are great African-Americans in US History.
6: I’m finally getting around to playing more FF XII. (13th FF game I have played! Still need I-III though
). If I really get into it, then I’ll work on characters and stuff for next game, but right now it is being filed with FF V since there seem to be few elements that can be gleaned. (Maybe some bosses or NPCS though).

8: What a day to watch C-SPAN! I saw Sen Warner, Sen Kerry, Sen Durbin, and the vote on the non-binding resolution. Three great speeches (four if you count Durbin’s Iraq and Darfur comments as separate). Warner vs Obama would make great debates in 2008.
