haha, that's the real joke. =P

EXACTLY. The joke's on the reader for sitting through the entire joke for such a contrite pun. Personally I have no problem laughing at myself, so I really enjoyed this one :)

I agree. I really liked the story. And the pun at the end made me actually laugh out loud because while I expected a 'lame' punchline.. well, this took the cake. =3

Heh, the punchline was spoiled for me (I scrolled down to see how long it was and saw kcharle's post, though small, it's still easily readble), but it was still an interesting read. I'm surprised I read through that... I really am. xD It's a different kind of joke, but I liked it (now I need to sleep. xD)

I don't think I could ever get someone else to read it, though, they're not patient enough and wouldn't enjoy it. :\

I love these sorts of jokes, and I was so glad to hear one I hadn't encountered before :D

The other ones I've heard of these:

Black and White Knight
Wiggly Woggly Worms
Squiggly Purple Monster
Noddy and Big Ears

I thought it was sadder than it was funny. meh. then again, I scrolled down to see how long it was and read the "BETTER NATE THAN LEVER" thing. I couldn't kill my friend, even if it was a snake. great story.

OMG, that was just absolutely hilarious! And, yes, sigh_driven, that's the whole point of it. I sat through the whole darned thing, mesmerized, trying to figure it out, and wham, as soon as I saw the punchline I said, Marj, you are so darned gullible and couldn't stop laughing. Tested, that's a great joke!!! My hat is off to you!

That's the thing though; I thought it was too obvious the story was supposed to be too long, so I didn't find it funny. I thought they could have cut it down and still got the same effect. A lot of people obviously stopped reading way before the end, or scrolled down and saw the punchline before reading it all (even if it was just to check the length). To really do this joke well, the story would be so engrossing that people wouldn't scroll down, they'd just keep reading. This story isn't bad, but I think it could be quite a bit shorter (but still longish), and the payoff would be better.

That was quite funny.. I couldn't stand reading all of it.. I read about 3/4 of it fully.. and then starting getting impatient.. so I started skimming the rest.. but quite funny.
