New daily then. It's fun to do it for the puzzle itself. The prizes are deflating really badly. lol

Heh, I was just thinking about that. It seems like there's one more daily now to do every morning. But uh, I got Neo Crackers for getting the wrong answer :/ It must've been one moon to the left after all...

Got a Green Tea Custard. I think I messed up when I made my answer though, I clicked the phase and then I clicked "return to lunar chart". o_O I assume I got it right. *shrug*

Cool, I got Glow-in-the-Dark Moon
"Guessing" the answer is pretty easy actually. You don't even had to have taken any astronomy class...although it does help. It's more logical than anything. If anyone needs help, here is how I figure it:

If the moon is behind Neopia, obviously no light will shine on it, so it's a new moon. If it's in front of Neopia, then it's a full moon. If it's in a 90degree angle, then it'll be half lighted. To figure out where it's lighted, just look at the position and see where the light from the sun would shine.

I hope that helps.

I got some weird partially lit cycle, and I was down to two answers. I just chose the wrong one. :P

I got a soggy box for my troubles.

The wise Gnorbu says: "That is the correct answer, great job! Here is a fantastic reward for your diligence."

whee!

I got "Lotus Leaves"

Here's some help for those having trouble ... (Take a small ball and color half of it ... it might help you in visualizing this).

If the moon, Neopia, and the sun make a straight line (in that order), then it is a full moon.

If Neopia, the moon, and the sun make a straight line (in that order) , then it is a new moon.

If the moon is directly on the left side of Neopia (as viewed from the perspective of the sun), then the left half of the moon will be lit.

If the moon is directly on the right side of Neopia (as viewed from the perspective of the sun), then the right half of the moon will be lit.

The intermediate angles are a little trickier ... but can still be done.

Just picture how far the moon is between 2 points you know.

For instance, if the moon is half way between being in a straight line (moon, Neopia, sun) (i.e. a full moon) and to the left side of Neopia (i.e. 1/2 lit on the left), then it will be lit up 3/4 on the left side.

Another case ... If the moon is half way between being in a straight line (neopia, moon, sun) (i.e. a new moon) and to the right side of Neopia (i.e. 1/2 lit on the right), then it will be lit up 1/4 of the way, on the right side.

Get the pattern?

If you need to do one more iteration (i.e. it isn't at a nice 45 degree angle), you just need to do the same approximation one more time.

For instance, if the moon is halfway between: 1) A straight line (moon, neopia, sun) (i.e. full moon) and 2) the point where the moon is 3/4 lit up on the left side (this was my first example) ... then it will be 7/8 lit up on the left side.

Sweet?

Ugh, are you sure? If the moon is between Neopia and the Sun, the sun lights the side Neopia can't see. Unless I misunderstood wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_phase

EDIT: Unless if by "behind Neopia" you meant between Neopia and the sun...then that's right.

Gah. Got one of those in-between angles, narrowed it down to 2, got it wrong.

Ah, well. Tomorrow's another day, and it's neat that we have a new daily.

I just randomly guessed, got it wrong, got "Rainbow Dung," and sold it for 1300np. Not bad for a daily. But I have a feeling eeeeverything we're getting today is going to deflate to 2np in a week lol. :/

Wait are these new things food or are they medicine? Because the minty rolls clear of sinuses and the tea is good for head aches and the green tea custard is soothing or something. So do you just eat it or does it doe something else to your pet? Has anyone tried this with a sick pet to see if it helped?
