If you're not thirteen, you also broke the rules by registering here.

I believe you have to be older than 13 to use the forums- or at least you used to have to be older than 13. It was in the Terms and Conditions somewhere, I swear.
Just like if you're under 13, you cannot play 'gambling' games.
With parental consent, you can register on the forums. I joined PPT when I was 10.
Just like when you parents sign the form, you can access the neoboards and guilds. My parents did that for me, I was viewing the NeoBoards and NeoChat shortly after I joined Neo.
What you posted what completely against the rules. You deserved to be frozen. If my parents saw that I was reading stuff like that, and I was under 13, I would never be allowed on Neo again.
You had it coming. Quit trying to fight it.

We all know TNT standards and the T&C when it comes to sexual content, so you should have been smart enough just to report the board and not post in it. You posted, you got what you deserved because you were a part of the argument, wether what you said was offensive or not you were egging them on by arguing with them and only making the problem worse.
Sorry, but I agree with TNT's decision.

Talking about sex or sexuality on Neopets is against the rules, whether you agree or disagree with the rule in question. The #1 rule for not getting frozen on Neopets is "Don't do things that are clearly against the rules."
The #2 rule, BTW, is "Don't post on the Neoboards," at least as far as I'm concerned. So many storys about freezings (fair or unfair) begin with, "I was posting to the Neoboards and..."

That's really true.

I think a lot of yall are being really unfair about this, with the "you deserved it" crap. Just mentioning what gender you feel better connected with shouldn't be a freezable offense - not everything in a relationship is about sex.
For example: Every time one of the many moms on Neo mention their hubby, they should be frozen because they've no doubt had sex before, and are probably thinking about doing it again some time!!!!!! What is the world coming to!!!!!!
See how ridiculous that was?
....
That said, it does seem that they were extremely biased against you. I think the whole lot should've just got a collective warning - mainly because it's a pretty touchy subject for both sides of the issue.
Not because I agree with TNT and their "no serious discussion about anything ever" rule, but because the rule has been plainly stated and everyone should know and follow said rules if they want to stay on the boards.
Warning= "Kid, you're pushing it"
Freezing = "Ok that was completely out of line and you knew it"
At least that's how I think TNT should deal em, and you were definitely only in category 1.

I agree completely, metal.
The punishment didn't fit the crime, for sure. And as for you saying "I like girls", that is a little different than "I'm bi."
However, i bet if you went around saying "I'm straight" they wouldn't do jack squat to you.
Biased.

I disagree. TNT has said time and time again that if you see a discussion that's against the rules, you
should not get involved in it. You should report the people breaking the rules and not post yourself. I fully agree that the homophobic jerks who were saying awful things in that topic should have been frozen (and yes, they deserved freezing more than littleboy6326 did), but what littleboy6326 did was also against the rules. TNT isn't always right, and sometimes they do freeze unfairly (they probably should have just warned littleboy in this case, at least IF this is a first infraction), but I'm getting really sick of people saying "TNT are jerks" and "TNT froze me unfairly," because much of the time, people who got frozen deserved it.

You don't need to say either. It's not a dating board in the first place.

Huh???? Your argument makes no sense. As a married person for over 15 years now, you cannot assume that I am thinking about doing "it" with my husband just because I make the statement "My husband went to get groceries" or "My husband is home sick today." Just because I have a mate and happen to mention him on Neopets does not mean that sex is continually on my mind nor that I should be frozen for it.
As my grandmother used to say, there is a time and a place for everything. If you are at a church fundraiser, you are probably not going to divulge your sexual fantasies to the pastor sitting in the seat next to you. However, you might tell your best friend after a few drinks at the local bar. If you want to talk about your sexual orientation, there are many places on the internet to do so. Neopets is not one of them. The rules are very clear on Neopets regarding sex, sexual orientation, dating, and even flirting. Neopets has to go overboard because the site caters to kids and Neopets has a duty to protect those kids. Everyone who plays the game should know that and not try to tempt fate by posting things that they know could cause their account to get frozen. TNT makes the rules. Not anyone else.
And, I agree with Cranberry. I am way sick of people calling TNT staff members jerks. They are human beings. Most of them are probably underloved and underpaid. They deserve respect, just like everyone else.

Even more basic than that, it's their site. We're just guests there. There is a very specific set of rules that we agree to follow every time we log in, and if we don't do so, we deserve the consequences. It doesn't matter what the other idiots were doing, the OP broke the rules and was punished accordingly. If they feel that freezing him was justifiable, that's their prerogative.

So... you're saying they persecute homosexuals?

Just checking in.
I've seen people frozen for posting saying they were pregnant (not only the teenagers posting whether for real or for attention, but mature, married women), for saying they are (whatever preference), as well as the to me silly a/s/l boards. Heck, I've seen people warned and/or frozen for typing the word mate - and at least one was someone from Australia where that word means friend. I mostly lurk and occasionally post on charter and bdc these days.
I'm sorry you were frozen, but unfortunately you did break the rules. Then again, so did anyone else who posted on that particular board if they were talking about their preference/orientation.

Jeez, some of you lot are very understanding fault.
The point is not that I shouldn't have been frozen- it is that they should be been frozen too.
I find it no different than making a topic about 'how much I hate black people', and having a black person say 'I'm black, don't like it? Tough. It's the way I was born'.
Now surely; putting it like that makes a bit more sense to some of you?

No, because talking about your skin color is not against the Terms and Conditions. Talking about your sexual orientation is.

I learned after my daughter's account was frozen (many moons ago) that Neopets has a sort of sliding scale about warnings/freezings/suspensions. A lot of it has to do with the length of time you've had your account and whether or not you've gotten warnings/suspensions before. So, a person with a month old account might get a suspension for saying something while a person with a 4 year old account might get a warning for saying the exact same thing. Hard to say what criteria they used in this situation. Or whether their punishment was consistently applied to all involved. It is quite possible that one TNT monitor read the report about you and another monitor read the reports about the other users, so no one person was doling out the punishment. And please don't think that I feel you should have been frozen over this. I see people doing a lot worse and never getting punishment whatsoever (like the people who put the word sexy in their username and nothing happens to them--yet a person who says the word sexy in a neomail gets a warning or suspension). However, you had to know that you were risking your account by saying what you did. Even if you felt that it was in the right. It never pays to get involved in arguments on the chat boards.

You have to be very careful what you say,
anywhere on Neopets. Yes, that board shouldn't have been on there in the first place, but a lot of stuff that shouldn't be on the Neoboards is on there, it doesn't mean you'll get away with it. The screening of the Neoboards also opperates on users reporting eachother (this isn't always a good thing), and as you were on a largely homophobic board, I expect alot of other people on there reported you. This isn't unfair, but Neopets is simply so huge that things like this can happen.
As people have already pointed out, you shouldn't have been discussing things like that on Neopets, even if the board was already there. I in general stay completely away from the Neoboards as there a minefield for things like this. It's simply just too easy to get reported by accident, and, quite frankly, when I can get a proper Neopets discussion on here without the spamming and chatspeak, the choice is easy
