So. For the ice show this year, we have to find our own costumes for the opener. These are supposed to be "hip-hop" costumes. So yeah, I don't really know what this would consist of. So, uh, help? Keep in mind that I have to be able to skate in it.

Also, anyone know where I could find red berets?

Depends on how modest they're supposed to be.. when I think I hip hop I think of half naked girls. o_O However you could wear a jogging suit/sweatsuit, cause the hip hoppity people seem to wear that stuff too..?

Get some 'bling'. A large, gold necklace ought to do nicely. Also, dew rags, or just some kind of bandanna you can wrap around your head and stick an oversized baseball cap over.

Think a clubbing outfit- yes, you'd want shiny jewelry/bling, but no heavy gold chains or the like on girls- those are strictly for the guys, or Missy Elliot. Same goes for track suits. Girls don't tend to wear them, unless, as stated, they're Missy Elliot.

Minidress would probably work. And try to incorporate some leopard-print fabric into it.

Hair straight and free (not up or in a ponytail or anything), dark-ish makeup...

Ah! Good news. Apparently people's interpretations of "hip-hop" were too varied, so we're going to have a more uniform costume. Course, we have to "grafitti" the shirts ourselves, and I completely lack art skills. So that won't go too well. But at least I don't have to find my own costume. That never works.
