I hope battling is worth a lot. Yes, it was limited time, too, but it was for a much longer time than gravemarking -- and even though lag was bad at first, it got much better later and battling was totally possible (unlike gravemarking, where every single yard seemed to get marked immediately, no matter the time of day).
Yes, but by the time it was possible to fight the opponnents were a lot more difficult. Meaning people with low level/low-intermediate pets weren't able to fight at all because it was impossible to fight the weaker opponnents during the lag and their pets weren't good enough to fight the stronger opponents.
So people with weaker pets didn't get a chance to fight, just like people with slower computers/slower internet connexions didn't get a chance to mark graves.
So I still think it would be fair if something like marking graves/testing bones/fetching potions earns us points too if something like fighting will earn us points.

And as for the mayor, I've said it before... it takes no skill to lose 100+ times. People were using the back-button trick to enter a fight with 0 hit points, losing instantly, so they didn't even have to spend NP on healing potions (and the programmers are aware of this). The guy's hit points were dropping at a fixed rate of 6.something per second anyway (dolphinling tested this to be sure), so it wasn't even necesary to pitch in and bring him down. I don't know for sure, but I doubt fighting him will be worth much -- maybe just a set amount of points for fighting each incarnation once.
I think alot of people will be upset if they didn't get any points for it. It doesn't take any skill to lose, but it will ruin someones bd-score to lose a 100 times.
Didn't battledomers in the meridell war earn opponents too for fighting the big boss Darigan, even though they only lost? (I'm not sure, I never participated in that war)
