I was about to post the exact same thing crimson did, about not being able to load games in a new window. That and points ratio being gone are probably the only things that I really can't stand about the new design. Colors are annoying, yes, and I wish they'd take out the for kids section, but I can deal with them. Also annoying about the not being able to load more than one game window is that if you open a new game it loads in the same window and the proportions get screwed up.

That is an awesome idea. Right now those points are useless aside from as a status symbol. It would be nice if we could cash them in for... even just training discounts or something, if not full training sessions.

I don't mind the organization. Actually, I would have really liked this change. The only thing that's bugging me is the design choice.

Right, guys, keep in mind, I didn't start this thread to complain about the design of the games room.
I started this thread to protest the removal of the points ratio info and the ability to change the quality setting.
I just want to keep on track if we're going to try to get TNT to do something about it. ;)

If you guys think we should address the inability to load to different games in different windows as well, we could do that. I'd also like to address the issues with sponsor games getting their scores reviewed, and how messed up the tamagotchi (sp?) crowd patrol game is.

I really think we need to think about coming up with reasonable arguments for reinstating the points ratio info. If TNT took it off for a reason, we need to find out the reason, and try to convince them that taking it off did more harm that good.

I sent a comment to the editorial right after the games room was revamped, but that hasn't seemed to have done anything. We need to do more!

Since Thursday was a holiday in the US, many places take today off, too, and TNT said not to expect work on Neovia plot prizes until next Tuesday, then I think it is really too soon to expect any action on anything right now.

If you look in their "contact us" area, there is a section specifically for the new games room. I would suggest that everybody who is unsatisfied with the the technical changes in the game send a letter that way. I think sending it to the editorial is less likely to get noticed. They get all kinds of questions and comments in the editorial. The feedback form is designed specifially for giving feedback about various aspects of the website.

Just tell them that you would like to see the points to NP ratio and the ability to set the quality reinstated.

Listen to yvonne. I'm pretty sure the staffer I talked to also does the editorial, so sending her the same questions over and over would probably just annoy her -- she has already sent a query to the games room people about both the quality and the ratio issues. Send a message directly to the programmers in charge of the game room instead by using this form. And don't expect anything to get done until Monday at the earliest -- there's nobody in the office.

The games room is disguisting. It's an excessive use of colours and graphics.

Thank you guys! I wanted to send a message to TNT, but I wasn't sure where to do it. That was the point I was trying to make in my post above, that just sending it to the editorial might not be very effective.

But I looked here http://www.neopets.com/contact.phtml and couldn't find a specific section for the new games room. Am I missing something or looking in the wrong place? And the form Cranberry posed, it looks like it's mostly for bugs, these issues aren't bugs, but complaints about the functionality of the games room... So I just want to be sure of what is the best way to send in my comments.

And one more thing I've noticed to complain about. It seems that I'm getting the error that my score can't be sent much more often now. I used to hardly ever get that error, unless I was trying to send a score very close to midnight, or if neopets was down for some reason or another, now it's happening several times a day, and it's very frustrating. Is anyone else noticing that?

Apologies about my previous, immature post regarding the matter -- it was mainly out of frustration.

I just sent in a polite, well constructed letter myself addressing the potential renaming of the "Kids" and "Educational" category just to make it a little less awkward -- as well as a suggestion regarding matching themes to coincide with non-default sidebars.

As trivial as it may be to some, I thought it might be simplier to rename the "Kids" category to something like "Easy". Therefore it would be, in my opinion, a happy medium that works well for all audiences. Educational.. I'm still not sure. My primary focus was the former, as primary colours along with that really made me uncomfortable -- and quite a lot of other people too, I can imagine.

As far as the theme idea, it's basically a summary of what everyone else wants -- skins to match their sidebar etc.

Personally I think the Gamesroom would be excellent if they could do that.

It's not happening several times a day but it is happening more frequently to me than before.

Is there anything wrong with just trying to make the site happy and fun? That's what the design says to me at the moment - the colours are bold, bright, primary colours, but why should they be? It's Neopets. It's supposed to be fun - to me, their colour scheme and choice of design show this.

On the other issue of missing functions, I agree that they need to be added, especially the NP ratio, that's purely stupid to leave it off. I just don't understand why.

I don't find 'For Kids' patronising or any of the like, there are children who play the site, and you cannot deny it. They are just trying to give younger people a chance to play games on the site, which otherwise, they may find too difficult, and may not understand. They have to cater for everyone - and children of a young age do play Neopets. I think nothing is wrong with their actions... and don't understand how people could be annoyed by it.

Perhaps instead of classifying games "for kids," they should just call them "kid-friendly," or "all-ages." That way kids would know they're easy to get the hang of, but older players wouldn't feel stupid when their favorite games are shoved into the kiddie category. TNT might not like doing that, though, because then people would think, "well, why aren't all of their games kid-friendly?" It's hard to win in a situation like this!

I don't have a problem with the categories, either. Maybe the Kids section will be something I should try, too.

Somebody asked about the Stock Market, I can't locate it either. I even tried using Help and it seemed to refer to the old layout. So that may be something else that should be reported, unless I'm just not seeing it.

The stockmarket can be found here. I'd recommend bookmarking it.
