Last years animations were really good!

Agreed, last year's were the best ever, much nicer than even the items given away, although I did enjoy the Plushie Petpet Paint Brush.

I'm not really expecting too much this year. It often seems like the Advent items are what ever crap items TNT has laying around that they never bothered to release to the shops during the year because they weren't good enough to be released.

As for whatever this year's *big* item might be, like the Plushie PPPB or Ona or Snow PPPB from previous year's, I am hoping it will be a brand new item.

I actually wasn't playing Neo much last year; I might have logged in once in December...

You know, have we eliminated the possibility that in order to get the winter sidebar, you have to have visited the advent calendar every day...?

or visit every day plus... something?

Whether or not these items have been dis proven, I'm going to perform many or all of these tasks if the method to get the sidebar hasn't been confirmed towards the end of the day on the 31st:

Winter Sidebar Checklist:
-Equip Christmas Petpet
-Have Christmas items in inventory
-Visit Advent Calendar Through Terror Mountain
-Collect Every day
-Have all Advent items in inventory
-Have some last year items in inventory
-Equip "Let it Snow" avatar
-Display Christmas items in shop, neohome, gallery
-have default sidbar
-watch animation in full
-put snowball, snowflake, or bruce item in inventory
-equip snowballs
-Equip snowflakes
-Have some Advent items for sale
-Donate Advent items to the money tree
-Visit money tree
-Have less than 2000nps on hand

I'm not sure on how to get the winter sidebar, but I reallyreallyreallyreally think it's all I'd like from the advent calendar this year.

I'd like to see no more clothes, and less neohome furniture.

You know what I think would be cool? If a few days, we had an option. Like, two items, and you get to pick one of them.
I think that'd be fun and it'd make collecting advent items more fun AND more tricky.

I got it last year, have marked your list as to what I did. Only thing that stands out is that one of my items was stolen, the beautifully wrappen present.

I don't think I'll bother. Most of the items are going to be steeply devalued in price anyway so if there's anything I particularly want, I'll just buy it from the Wiz.

Hold onto your seats people... the SL is back.

This is going to be my first neopian christmas, so I'll be happy with whatever I get, I guess... more toys are always welcome (in neopia and in real life :D), and I'd like to see something "funny"... as in roll-your-eyes-and-groan-because-it's-so-corny funny. I don't know what though... *shrug*

How about some Fruitcake as a BD item? (deals pure physical damage as it's a bludgeoning weapon :P)

I found on the shop wizard nesting moehog toy or something like that. It is a little wooden moehog with lots of other little wooden moehogs nested in it. I think that might be one of the things we get.

But that ruins the fun of the advent calendar (and you lose out on the free Neopoints that come with the prizes)

Hmm, good question. Plushies are always good, as is seasonal food and drink. Stockings would be nice, and maybe some items to commemorate the discoveries of Shenkuu and Neovia (assuming Neovia becomes a 'mini-world' or whatever after the plot's over - I don't see why not, they've already got the town drawn and there seems to be enough demand for it. :D)

Ordinarily I'd also like furniture because I like decking the halls of my Neohome during the holidays, but I'd rather they properly release and/or fix some of the furniture that's already been announced in the news. No sense in giving the artists and programmers even more work to have to catch up on. But if they were caught up, I'd like a holiday candle ("It's pretty and it smells nice, but don't leave this unattended!") or some more tinsel.

I did like the crazy scarf and seasonal Twisted Roses hat they gave out last year. The scarf was perfect for my Mutant Bruce's personality and my Hissi's a big Twisted Roses fan. But I wish they'd make clothes usuable, kinda like toys or instruments. The command could say, "Put this on Druscylla," or something, and your pets could reply, "Yay! I love this color!" or "No way!! I'm not wearing THAT ugly thing!" or whatever. While you can't actually see them wear the item - well, you can't actually see them play with their toys or instuments either, right?

If clothes worked like that, I wouldn't mind getting them from the Advent Calendar and might even buy a few. But since they don't...well, just becomes another pretty thing to toss in the SDB. :(

Rakumel, I love your idea for how the clothing items could be used. This wouldn't put a huge strain on the servers, and it would actually lead to more items being used (yay!). I think you should definitely submit that idea to TNT!

I still like getting stuff from the Advent Calendar (especially the Neopoints). But I do also buy them from the Wiz. Only to keep them for a few years to sell again. Maybe it'll go up.....

But I with TNT wouldn't give away so much clothing. There's nothing you can do with that.

It's all completely free... so I'm not going to complain about anything we get. I just *hope* we get some interesting things. :P
