Whoa. I actually managed to beat Shrieking Shadows once with my beginner battle pet that has 41 stats for HP/strenght/def. Didn't really think I could do it. Glad to be proven wrong :D

It's probably been mentioned somewhere before but what exactly does it mean to max out against an opponent? *Is confused*

Maxing out on an opponent is when you can no longer normally beat the opponent (you can't beat them without a lot of luck).
Everytime you beat a challenger, they get stronger, they get more HP and can reach higher strength boosts too.
When the challenger gets to be just too strong for you to beat anymore, you've maxed out on it.
I was able to beat Herman Dorfdrap quite easily when he came out, but now after 41 wins against him, he's gotten too strong for me to beat.

Is it true that we are only going to get points from the Villages? The post on the IDB main-page seems to indicate that - but it is a little confusing to read.

No. You don't get points if you lose or draw against any opponent. Wins will count, although we don't know how much yet.

I had a few more I was hoping to get in this evening. Ah Well...

I finished with:
5, 10, 33, 1, 1, 26, 35, 20, 6, 48, 35, 20. For each opponent (in order)

245 wins total :D (Though once upon a time I killed that and another 100 spyders...)

I had a heck of a lot more potential.

And I'm so glad it's done too; I REALLY gotta get back to doing homework/studying.

My Battledome breakdown:

Stones
15
15
76
-----
96

Trees
30
40
60
----
130

Malicious Mobs
50
25
03
----
78

Shadows
55
45
22
----
122

Grand Total - 426

There was too much lag with the first wave for me to do much fighting - those easy wins would have boosted my score up dramatically.

If I had worked out my scores before the fighting ended, I would have tried for 500 wins.

I fought 428 times for 426 wins and 2 draws - no loses. :)

1029 wins for me. I maxed out on some of the guys, not all, and I got some draws and a couple losses (mostly due to stupid mistakes made while tired, heh). :)

A late reply to the earlier post:

"Maxing Out" is a term used by BDers to show how many times they can beat an opponent without relying on sheer luck, or any determination to achieve a draw instead of losing.

A good example of sheer luck will be the following example:

Player - 23HP, Healer and defensive skills exhausted, left only with offensive weapons,

Bennie The Jub - 1HP, Freezer & Healer unused,

Luck would naturally mean that the player HOPES that Bennie wouldn't be using any freezer or healer, as that would mean the lost of a match.

After you hit this initial stage of LUCK and DRAW, you probably have a space of a few more matches before you pull out.
