Remember, just putting the call out: If anyone finds anything having to do with SPECTRAL ESSENCE, or hits upon it accidentally while potion-making, tell us exactly what you did and get a screenie or something. That's the part we're all stuck at right now.

Do we need to get the spectral essence somewhere else ? Neovia ? Game maybe? Fetch ? Meepit juice?
Or perhaps combining all ingridients or several ingridients ?

there are 6 ingridients, my guess we have to guess what 5 ingridients to make the spectral essence...

Perhaps from those ghostly REs?

No, someone on Neoboards already tried it I think.

That would be my guess, but I have no idea.

From lurking on the Neoboards, someone claims to have hit a Ghostly Composition by increasing Enchantment to +180. I don't believe it, but it's worth a shot.

I don't know about hitting enchantment +180... I did that by burning Jurpleberries for awhile but I didn't make it into a composition. So I will try and let you know

Okay! Can someone tell me if i'm on the right path?!

I'm on lv2.

I need for Composite #1;

Composite #1:

Quantity: 18 grams
Relevant property: Divination
Target value: +41 +/- 5

So If I did the following, would I be okay?
Ingredient A - 4g - 50 Divination
Ingredient B - 5g - 40 Divination
Ingredient C - 4g - 30 Divination
Ingredient D - 5g - 50 Divination

And according to the calculation.. that would be;

4 * 50 = 200
5 * 40 = 200
4 * 30 = 120
5 * 50 = 250

Added together = 770, and divided by the total number of grams needed -- 18 -- is about 42.7. Which is between +/- of 5 of 41.

Oh please please please say i'm on the right track. *pulls out hair*
Would that be good for Composite #1?!

Yup that should do it.

Yes, you're on the right track. Good work! As long as your average falls within that range, you're golden.

Oooh thank you both! *gathers you both up in a very thankful hug*
At least I know I understand what i'm doing now!

THANK you to whoever posted that mini guide! It helped immensely! I can't see the name on the scroll down screen right now.. but honestly.. You have eased my stress!

How did you work out what divination you needed for each ingredient?

I started out with 30 for each, and than I kept raising it randomly! I could easily switch up Ingredient A and C, and it would still be the same once it's all added up. Just as long as they end up in the range that you need, you can basically have any number of Divination per Ingredient! :D

You're welcome :)

Whoever does the split for this needs to post it on the front page. It might help some people.

Thanks for all the help - am brewing now, hopefully my results will work!

Thu Nov 09, 2006 7:24 am

Oh man this step is making my head hurt.

I completed the first level. Am on the second level - have finished the first composite, and the second one is asking for 25 grams of Enchantment at 86 +/- 5. I have 15 grams already at 86 - now I just have to wait for my last 10 grams to finish.

It's going very slowly. But at least I think that I'm on the right track.

Absolutely screwed for level 3, however. I think I'll do what TOSO one recommended, and fiddle and work out the ratio and how long each one takes.
