This is one avatar that is going to take a long time and a lot of work for me to get. I'm assuming even if I got accepted for every article I might send in that would still mean it would take about 10 weeks 
I did send an article in awhile ago but never heard back from them, pity really would have been a good start... They've probably released this avatar because the quality of the Times lately has been going down its repetition after repetition (just recycled ideas it seems), probably if they get more people applying then new ideas may come in!

Medusa, don't feel bad that you never heard back, I've submitted a few articles and never heard anything, not even a rejection notice.

Yeah, it be a shiny avatar, but I'm not one to just go and write up articles and comics just for it. Not worth it and I'm sure some avatar collectors will be flooding NT.
Guessing it is the for those who worked hard on those series comics/series

Thanks Everconfused, I'll be sure to submit another couple of articles/stories when my writers-block decides to take a holiday and my inspiration decides to come home from his holiday

i can write articles but i find it tough to write "neopian times" friendly articles.

Similar to Mystique, I have quite things I could write a Neopian Times worthy article on... except that they wouldn't accept it due to the harsh criticism of the system it would contain. ^^;

Oh, I don't think I could ever get that avatar. I've never gotten anything accepted into the Neopian Times, and I've submitted quite a lot...I'm always at a loss for decent Neopets-related ideas that would make a good article or story, it seems

Being a writer, I absolutely love this avatar. 
I want it so bad. It's my favorite one so far.
Hmm, I'm going to have to start writing some stories or something. I have always wanted to write a Neopets story and send it in, but I've never been much for fanfics (which writing about Neopets seems to me). I had an awesome idea for one back during the war. I never got around to putting it down, though. Now I wish I had. lol
Since I'm now involved in several Neopets role-playing stories, maybe I can get some ideas and whip something up.
Btw, did I mention how bad I want this avatar? lol

and i doubt they made it just to increase the number of articles, it doesn't necessarily increase the quality, and i feel a little sorry for the editor, because now they are doing to have to wade through all of this
