Ok, I need some help, but please keep in mind that I don't ever battle besides occasions like this, and that spending a lot of money (which I don't have) is, as a result, obviously not an option. I like to believe I've got myself a pretty good newbie BD'er collection of weapons, and I recently adopted a pet with stats I never would've achieved on my own. So:

Health : 59 / 59
Strength : GREAT (29)
Defence : GREAT (23)
Move : mach 2

Seems pathetic to the lot of you, i know, but hey, I'm never battle besides occasions like this.

Weapons at my disposal: 2*Scarab Ring, 2*Golden Geraptiku Talisman, 2*Caustic Potion, Mipsys Charm Bracelet, Obsidian Dagger, Poison Tipped Dagger, Bone Sceptre

Any recommendations? I'm willing to spend some, but not too much. say... 20k? Maybe some more if it's for something really good that'll help me go a long way. Most I can spend is 140k, but ther ebetter be a damned good reason for spending that much, as in 'it'll help you after the war as well'.

EDIT: Just bought myself a Leaf Shield, which was probably a necessity.

I am now using 2 Scarab Rings, a Bone Sceptre, an Obsidian Dagger, a Caustic Potion, and a Leaf Shield.

I think I'm one of very few people who actually give advice on this thread, and I don't have time to help each of you individually. So I'd suggest that if you don't want to sign up at the IDB forums and start your own thread in weapon advice, then go back and read my first two posts on this thread. I've kept them updated with good new weapons, so look up the weapons using IDB's search feature (in the sidebar, near the bottom), and check the prices at Neo and choose what looks good to you and what you can afford. For 1-player, you want a set structured something like this (examples of each weapon type in brackets):

-Attack weapon (Ice Club)
-Attack Weapon (Earth Faerie Slingshot)
-Dual-duty/Another attacker (Scarab Ring)
-Freezer (Snowglobe Staff or a frost cannon)
-Bomb (Honey Potion is great but expensive; a one-use like Chocolate Chip Battle Biscuit or even Sand Snowball is great)
-Healer (Greater Healing Scroll up until you have 100 or even 150 hit points, Lesser Healing Scroll if you have less than 25 hp)
-Percentage Defence (Downsize!, blocks half of every icon type thrown at you)
-A shield (Leaf Shield, Mystical White Cloak) if your defence is around the same boost as your strength, or some kind of reflector or blocker, or a purple sticky hand if your opponent has something worth stealing (the Halloween plot stones don't), or even another one-use bomb.

The faerie abilities you really need are burrow (4 bottled earth faeries and your pet must be level 10) and sink (8 bottled dark faeries and your pet must be level 30). All other good ones are animated at that link.

I would also suggest that if at all possible, you make sure your pet is at the very least at the 20 boosts for strength and defence. The 35 boosts are decent, and 55 is even better (once you've reached 55 and definitely 85, I assume you know what you're doing and don't really need this little guide ;)). Training is fast and still pretty cheap for weaker pets.

1-player opponents' strength and defence boosts are equal to their hit points (up to 700, as that's the top boost and even though hit points keep rising, str and def boosts won't change), so once they have more hp than you have strength, they will become a little harder to beat. When they're several boosts over you, they will get even tougher! Once the enemies get tough, your battle strategy can be something like this:

Turn 1: Freezer (withdraw and fight inflatable balthazar to heal if it fails), downsize!, bottom (strongest) species ability
Turn 2: Strongest attack weapon, bomb, fierce/berserk (or two strongest weapons plus fierce/berserk)
Turn 3: Two best weapons, burrow or sink
Turn 4: Two best weapons, burrow or sink
Turn 5: Best weapon, shield, species ability or defend
From here on out, you can defend, heal, whatever... just stay alive!

That is by no means a "walkthrough;" you can switch the turns around and devise a strategy that works for you. Just remember to avoid using fierce/berserk against a strong unfrozen opponent, because those abilities increase the damage your weapons do, but they also increase the damage your opponent does to you. This is why you should only go all-out attacking while they are frozen.

Any questions?

As a general tip for battlers without defense, since this is war time, many 1-player opponents will be using physical icons. (They have a history of using them heavily) I would suggest getting a winged scarab before they spike due to war inflation. It blocks all physical.

ok..

Species : Ruki
Colour : Mutant
Gender : Female
Age : 660 days
Level : 14

Health : 15 / 15
Mood : cheerful
Hunger : satiated
Strength : titanic
Defence : steel plate
Move : cheetah

Currently using random items i've found about the place. Including:

Ruki Bow
Ruki Battle staff
Sandstone boots
Serf Lens

I'm not used to battling so I have no idea if these items are even any good... I can't defeat those damned trees.

Abilities wise, i've got heal, firey gaze, firey roar... but these don't seem to do much good.

Money, well... i've got a bit... not millions and i'd rather not spend too much. Any ideas for strategies?

I was just curious to see what people's opinions on what I should upgrade in my set. I have...

SoS
HP
Mystery Fruit Bowl
Downsize!
Blue Scorchstone (haha I know)
Leaf Shield

My defense really isn't up to par, so I don't really use the shield at all. I've been thinking about buying a gbomb, but would that be silly.

*smacks head* And here are the stats...
Species : Chia
Agility : 92 (AMAZING (92))
Attack Strength : 156 (ULTIMATE (156))
Defence Strength : 32 (GREAT (32))
Current hp: 453 / 453
Level : 44

I would worry about getting a freezer before another bomb. (If you've got the points to buy a Gbomb, you can get pretty much any 100% one you want.)

A winged scarab would serve you better than the leaf shield right now since you havent trained defense much and it's war time.

She has so many hit points that she doesn't need to worry about defence quite as much; she can survive several rounds in a row just using burrow, sink, Downsize!, even a regeneration on medium power. I'd go with a stronger secondary weapon, maybe Bow of Destiny, instead of the Mystery Fruit Bowl... and Ghostkerbomb is indeed a wonderful bomb, atomicblonde, if you want to spend that much. Mine has helped me win a lot more battles than I did with just Honey Potion.

Thanks :) I think I will look into the Bow. I should have replaced that bowl a long time ago, but I've been holding onto it for sentimental reasons...

I can't really blame you there. :) I won the mystery fruit bowl from that Mystery Island plot, too, and I used it for ages. I didn't want to sell it, but I finally did when I wanted to upgrade. I use SoS and Wand of Reality now, and that's a decent combo.

WEAPONS:
Downsize!
Flaming Oven Gloves
Earthen Scorchstone
Greater Healing Scroll

I need to upgrade my defensive weapons. I dont know whether to keep the faerie bow, but I like it because its icons are different from the spellbook and the compass is dual duty...XD
