Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Dumbledore's funeral made me cry ^^;

Nights in Rodanthe and The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks made me cry as well.

Le gasp! How could I forget The Guardian? Oh man, the ending of that was intense. I haven't read Nights in Rodanthe, although I own it. Hmmm, I suppose it's worth it.
(Yes, shhhhh. One o' my hidden secrets is that I really enjoy Nicholas Sparks books. )

Books usually make me cry right on cue - when someone dies, etc., but only if it's dramatic. I'm a sucker for dramatic prose. The first book that made me cry was Anna of Byzantium, and I read it in fifth grade. Other books that made me cry include Gone With the Wind, The Mill on the Floss, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Those are just off the top of my head, though, I'm sure there are a lot more.

Oh, yes, Nights in Rodanthe is definitely worth it. It's second on my list of Nicholas Sparks books that I've read. (The Guardian is the first).

The Outsiders - Such a sad book, one of my favorites.
Of Mice and Men - Having a mentally handicapped brother, I felt so sorry for Lennie at the end.[/b]
Prayer for Owen Meany - Such a great book. The ending just ripped my heart out.

I'm usually pretty stoic, not a whole lot of tears.

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
among a few various and random other things, those got me.

Woof, I finally found a book that made me cry.

Saying It Out Loud by Joan Abelove.

I just finished a book called Feed that I randomly selected at the library. I didn't outright burst into tears or anything cause I was in Math class and didn't want to call too much attention to myself. Anyways, I was really trying to hold them back at some points and they were leaking down my face.

Let's see:
Jacob Have I Loved (stupid grandma)
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (There's just something about Carmen that turns on the waterworks)
Anna of Byzantium (I got really mad)
The Little Princess (don't ask)

I'll probably add more later. There's tons.

Boy Called It... Dave Pelzer.

Absolutely heart breaking.

Oh I always cry at the end of the Outsiders. I adore that book, even if it makes me sob like a baby at the end.

The ending to Anne Bishop's "the Dark Jewels" trilogy always makes me cry. After 3 books, I felt like I knew the characters. The utter sadness some of them feel breaks my heart every time I read it. Excellent dark fantasy. If you haven't read the books -- run out and buy them!

I also always cry at the end of LJ Smith's "The Vampire Diaries." Both the 3rd and 4 books' endings are so emotional that it hurts. (I still think Bonnie and Damon should hook up). I love these books. Hopefully, LJ Smith is going to make good on her promise to rewrite them for the fans - as adult novels instead of YA. It just strikes me funny HOW MUCH Buffy the Vampire Slayer's characters feel like the ones in this book. If I didn't know any better, which I don't, I'll swear that Joss Whedon read them and was inspired to create Buffy, Angel, Willow, Cordy, and Xander.

God, I've not read LJ Smith for yeeeeeeears... must see about getting them off ebay...

Old Yeller made me cry...poor dog! They shot him because he had hydrophobia, despite him saving so many lives!
The Cat who went to Heaven made me cry too. I pity the cat, but at the end it's so touching. But the cat died, though.

Not sure if any of you know about these books, though. They don't seem to be very common.

Most books don't really make me cry, but there are a few that have (or at least made me feel like I was going to):

Marley & Me - I've read this book 3 or 4 times, and I cry every time at the end of the book. So sad!

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - The end of the 3rd one didn't actually make me cry, but it still made me really sad.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - The last few pages of the book got me crying. I still can't really believe what happened...I can't wait for the 7th book so I can see how everything turns out.

That's all I can really think of off the top of my head. There were probably a few more, but I can't remember them right now.
