Two weeks in a row I am happy with the judges decisions. There was something good in Paris' air...someone should bottle it and make Nina inhale directly. But that said, the challenge for this week was pretty ridiculous. Overall, everyone's designs were pretty crappy when you think about what they were supposed to be designing, but I'll get into that. I really didn't like how they made the designers fit their dress to two different models. These people need more time and more hugs. No one should have to do everything so quickly. Too bad it makes such good Tv.
Is it awful that whenever Catherine Maladrino spoke I immediately thought of Talledega Nights? Which I'm pretty sure makes me a horrible Will Ferrell loving american. Which makes me really sad. But anyway.
Finally, Vincent is gone. I had read rumors that his model was one of the three to walk in fashion week, and as he kept on getting her, I was worried he might just make the top three. Praise little baby infant 6 pound 8oz jesus (I saw that movie too many times, as I went with a few different people). His dress looked like...a the wrapping paper you'd buy at macy's. It even had the ugly little bow. He was pretty much talentless throughout the entire competition, but finally, it was recognized. And how he kept on going on and on about how he studied couture and how fabulous he was..
ugh. Three things I am glad I will not hear about anymore: 1. His 401k (kinda sad, but make sure you have the talent to back that kind of decision up) 2. How his designs get him off. I do not need to explain that one. 3. How everyone around him is an amateur (We have Jeffery for that thank you v. much. And he doesn't gross me out as much.)
I was so afraid Micheal was out. I TiVoed through the end, made sure he wasn't, then went back and watched. But I liked how he was one of the only ones to really...try to do the challenge? He put effort into his idea and design, but really didn't have the skill level to pull it off. But nobody really did. So oh well, I hope he does better next week.
Laura. Sometimes I really like what she does. I can see the beauty of it and I can see past the riding boots and appreciate her as a designer. Other times, I think she is out of her league as a designer, and they should have kept Alison and gotten rid of her because Laura doesn't seem to have much vision. Laura designs what she likes, but she can't see outside that. And she's preggo, we get it. But do we have to see it all the time?
Sometimes Kayne is too tacky for words, but other times, the judges are too hard on him. His corset thingy was gorgeous. I didn't like the brown ribbons on it, but the rest was so pretty. If I was flat chested and had somewhere really fancy to go to, I'd atleast try that dress on...I can't really say that about any of the other dresses that were on the runway. But I do agree, that Kayne is ..not the classiest. He won't win because he is too..midwestern prom/pagent. He keeps saying he's from white trash, and while he can do beautiful, it's not 5th avenue beautiful.
Ugh, Uli. I want to like her
so bad. Her dress looked really cheap in my opinion. It was her Miss USA dress with some lace on it. If I really focus on how much I didn't like it, it kinda makes me think of a disney princess nighty I had when I was itty bitty. And not in a good way.
Jeffrey won. His dress was the only one that really stood out to me as something completed and well done. That may just be because I couldn't see any detail due to the pattern, but oh well. His model sold it, he was the only one that desrved the win this week. His neck is really huge.
So yeah. That was my take for the week. Things are going to be intense from this week on. Fashion week is this week? Maybe? So we will be seeing the final four collections soon. V. exciting.

thank goodness! I don't even mind Jeffery winning. Now we can get down to the real designers. No more stupid granny circles or vincent getting a little too happy with his designs. (I swear, I bet he designs naked at home).
Well, when one is sewing for themselves it is sometimes easier to be in your underoos, just because you're constantly trying the piece on. But as Vincent never makes menswear he has no right to be naked. Ever. Ew.
Oh, and if I was Catherine Maladrino, I would have been SO CREEPED OUT when Vincent was telling her how magnificent she was. Unless that just happens to her all the time and she's just used to it. I wouldn't mind that then.
Sorry this was so long.
