Hello all,
To start off, i'm completely new here, it's my first day on this board and i've been searching through for a solution to my problem all through the board. I've seen similar cases but nothing that answers my question.
I was on neopets today, doing my usual frantic exploring/game playing, when out of nowhere I was asked to log back in. Not bothering to see if it was a fake login page, I xed the entire firefox window and went back to neopets.com and attempted to log in on the main page. Sure enough, my password was invalid.
I went to "lost username" to look up my account by email to see if my email had been changed, and sure enough they changed that too.
So, of course, I filled out the correct form, or atleast tried to. This is where my question comes into play. They ask what items are in your SDB, do they need the EXACT name of a certain % of the items, or a general summarization?
Do I have to list off each spooky food I had in there, or can I just run down "spooky foods, stamps, omelettes, advent calendar items (year 3, 4 and 5)"?
Everything else was spot on, besides the list of books my pet has read (I havn't read him a book besides Keeping The Peace in two years!)
I've heard that it could take months to get your account back, if at all, and i've read the success story with somebody getting theirs back in 48 hours.
As for how they got the password, I have no idea. I don't go to any neopets related sites besides the site itself, do not participate in anything on there besides games and an occasional fishing trip. I don't share my computer with anybody else or log in to my account anywhere besides this computer.
Although the "how" isn't important to me, I just hope I can get my account back... I have a Strawberry Jetsam, Fire Grarrl and a Mutant Buzz with a Mutant Plathydon, 400,000 in the bank and was just starting an aquatic life themed gallery. Drat!

I am sorry to hear you have lost your account. Make sure you tell TNT where you were when you had to log-in. It was could a CG in a shop.

A general summary would be sufficent, but make sure you list any really expensive/unusual items. List your gallery and any shop items you can remember.
Good Luck

Thank you for the reply, I think I summed up everything I have in the SDB (not too much, just junk really, I don't even know why it's in there lol)
Though, assuming I'll have to restart my account, would I be able to get a new master account without it being frozen? 2 Days - 6 Months is a huge door to not play on neopets, especially since I just got back into it a few weeks ago.

What is in your SDB is not as important as informastion that only the owner of the account would know. Examples would be what your e-mail address has been in the past, pets you created VS pets you adopted, rare codes you cached in, and anything else you could think of that only the owner would know. I suggest saying if you gave anything big to anybody, sent a recent neogreeting, earned an uncommon avatar, or disowned a pet.

I'm in the process of the same waiting game. I fell for a scam and ended up losing all 3 of my accounts. 1 of them has the pw and email changed, while the other two were frozen, on no fault of my own. I tried summing up the best I could what I had in my sdb, and gave a specific example for each generality. It's been atleast a week, and no word yet. I decided to create a new account so I don't die from boredom, and just put whatever non food items I get into my new sdb. I know how you feel. Hang in there.

I once collected 300 of a junk item, so in the event I get frozen, I can say *I have 300 of *ect* in my SDB
SO totally my account*
A worthy tip for others perhaps?

Back when I was getting back into neopets, I couldn't remember the password to one of my older accounts and really wanted to just move stuff oer to a new account... epseically my pet!
When I was contacted for information by a staff member, this is what she said:
"Information such as old passwords, the correct birthdate, email address used when signing up, neofriends, and items in the inventory will help me out greatly!"
She told me that email addresses, passwords, and neofriends were the big ones, because those were kept in the system even when changed, so that was something that she could go back and verify.
I know most of you are just playing the waiting game now, but in the event of something like this happening to somebody else, i hope this helps.

Some of us are not fortunate to get there accounts back even if they are innocent.
My dad got his account frozen after someone tricked him on a cookie grab and he got blamed as well.
after 2-3 months of emailing TNT we got an email that says this
Hello,
Your account was frozen because you voluntarily gave your username and password to a password scamming page (a scammer) in the hopes of gaining neopoints, items and/or cheats, and possibly administrative functions (like freezing other users hard-earned accounts or pets).
It is because of this we will not be unfreezing this account.
Why are we not unfreezing your account?
Because in this situation, you were not only scammed; but you were attempting to cheat as well. And as is our normal practice, we do not return accounts caught attempting to cheat. It would be unfair to the millions of honest users who play every day without cheating.
And just so you know: after the scammer got into your account, they used it to try to scam other users out of their hard-earned neopoints, items, and pets.
Again, we remind you NOT to give your password out to ANYONE for ANY reason and to keep your browsers updated. Also, giving out your instant message information is potentially very dangerous - which is why it is against our Terms & Conditions. Scammers can also steal your information that way.
If you have any other questions, don't forget to include the entire text of this e-mail with your username clearly at the top. This will help me better address your situation.
This really made me mad, my dad has quit playing now and i just feel cheated. My dad lost 1.7million in neopoints so he was devastated and then to get frozen just made him give up.
What can he do well nothing??

Maybe it's a "hope you get somebody nice to help you out" type of thing. Sounds like some are very understanding while others are just the opposite. For those who HAVE their accounts back, did you just wait around for X amount of days until they randomly emailed you, or did you have to badger them about it?
I've already started my second account, as I don't have much hope i'll be getting my original one back. Again, I was randomly logged out while exploring, I never attempted to cheat or made it look like I was.
An odd side note, whoever got into my account didn't seem to do anything with it. My buzz still has his mutant plathydon equipped, and the pin number function wasn't set for equipping/unequipping...they could have easily sold that for a good chunk of NP. They also haven't been logged back in since the day my password was switched. Odd...very, very odd.
