As a rule of thumb, pretty much anything that was successful at all or something that has a cult following can not be the worst movie ever. It's not possible.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (unless it's the second)
Napoleon Dynamite
Friday Series (yeah, yeah, it has a following, even though I put it on there. :P)
Catch Me If You Can
Freddy Got Fingered
Dumb and Dumber
Lara Croft's Tomb Raider (don't know about the second, but the first can't be here)
Team America: World Police
Dodgeball

All of those aside from "Catch Me If You Can" and "Tomb Raider" has a following. (CMiFC just wasn't bad, so it doesn't deserve to be on here, and Tomb Raider was successful, and not at being bad)

Right. Not worst, and therefore not worthy to be on this list. Maybe on the other list. ;)

But it's a totally subjective thing, and when someone is saying something they genuinely think is one of the worst films ever made, should you really be going 'well, I disagree, so it's not"?

Put it on the Best Bad Movies thread if you want. It's not getting on this list. I like it too much. :battar:

Why even have this thread if you're not going to put up other people's choices? It's more like "Ryan.Riverside's Least Favorite Movies", not "PPT's Least Favorite Movies", because you're only putting up the movies you don't like, not following the opinions of everyone else.

1. I haven't seen most of the movies on the list, and therefore have had no say-so in whether or not those are on the list or not

2. I am following the opinions of others, because no one has said, "The Ring is the absolute worst movie of all time." All I have heard about the movie is that:
a) It's bad.
b) It's not that scary.
c) It's overhyped.

3. I am giving everyone a vote on whatever movie they want. If you want to vote for The Ring, go right ahead. If you honestly think that it is the worst, put in a vote for it. I won't stop you. All I was saying with that was that, given the fact that it was submitted during the 'bad movie' phase of the thread, and that since then no one had submitted it as a Worst Movie Vote, and compounded with the fact that that was one of the few movies that I have seen, and that, having seen it, I felt that it was bad, but not the worst, I felt compelled to keep it from the list.

4. I don't appreciate you getting hot and bothered about it. If you have a point of contention with me, please PM me, and don't throw insults at me across the thread. I would never do that to you. Thank you.

In my opinion, yes. Not in others.

Touche. I'm sorry that you are all getting upset about this. It was never my intention to make enemies by making this thread. Perhaps it was a bad idea...

Normally I don't post on this board, but I had a movie that needs desperately to be on this list: Something's Gotta Give.

Only movie I have ever walked out of in the theater. (Well, I did walk out of Flight Plan, but that was because my friends wanted to leave and the movie was almost over anyway.) It got to the part where Jack Nicholson was cutting Diane Keaton's sweater off with a pair of sewing scissors, and that was just too much. I spent a good hour-plus listening to music and waiting for my family to get out of the theater.

Technically, that's the floor, not the keyboard.

Well I started at the keyboard, does that technically work?

I am going to object to A Walk to Remember. I don't see how this was one of the worst movies? If people thought it was terrible because it had Mandy Moore in it, then this was defiantly not one of her worst movies. The movie had a solid plot that was terrible in the sense that she passed away in the end. It was a sad movie, that appealed to its audience when it first came out. If you were feeling terrible about your life, then watched that movie, you felt slightly better.

Oh god, I agree. That movie was terrible.

Gone, forever.

No, it's just the worst film I've ever seen- and for several years I used to have a tradition of going to see a terrible film at least once a month.

The plot is awful and horrifically sentimental. The acting is awful. And they spun it out way too long.

When you watch a film about someone dying, that is meant to be sad, and you spend over half of it going "is she dead yet? For god's sake, is she dead yet? I want to go home"...it hasn't worked.

Even ogling Shane West didn't help. And you know that's bad.
