"Good, Hikaru," Tess said praisingly, smiling again. "Alright, when riding western, you're going to hold your reins in one hand. There's many different ways to hold them, but what I do is - choose which hand you're most comfortable with first - and then place your index finger between the reins. Place your other hand on your leg and just let it dangle at your side a bit." She instructed, calming Sacred by turning him in a couple of circles and then walked him near Hikaru, but kept her distance. "Then to get to her to go, just squeeze with your heels - which you keep pressed down - and click her tongue," she then instructed. Tess followed her own direction, showing Hikaru. "And then keep your hand low by her neck and to go left, just move your reins to the left. Same witht the right." She smiled yet again at Hikaru. "Listen, take a deep breath. You're doing just fine. Even if you don't exactly know what your doing, always ride with your head held high and your shoulders back." Tess lifted her own chin a bit and pressed her shoulders back. "Have confidence. Have trust within yourself and your horse. Because without it and faith, you're only gonna end up on the ground and that's not too much fun." Sacred began to paw at the ground and toss his head up and down, nostrils flarring in and out with each breath.
"Hey, chill." Witha few gentle bumps of her reins, the arab lowered his head the slightest and tucked it in, getting beautifully collected. "Ready to walk?" she asked Hikaru and then looked to Alejandro. "How you doin' over there?" she asked, looking to the mare and feeling glad that he seemed to have her under control. "Just get ready when a breeze picks up. She tends to get a bit spooky about that. He does too," she said, gesturing at her own horse was beginning to prance in place again, ready to go.
