You meant KI, right?
Anyhow, I think the map shows where the change of course took place, not what was planned.

That's also how I saw it at first, but now I've looked at it again, to me it looks as if the black line was indicating the ship was headed to Mystery Island (assuming that is Mystery Island, of course) and the red X marked on the black line was when the storm hit, leading them off course, to the red O where I think Hoban planned to leave the ship and the crew would then sail to Krawk Island.

That's what I meant, but the point is the same. The map makes it look like Hoban planned the storm out!

I agree.

Supposedly, the room was locked and not opened until the Captain went in, after Hoban's disappearance, right? Therefore, it would indicate that the lines indicated Hoban's plan to divert the ship.

Which begs the question: what are the X's about on the grid map? Dumping sites? Possible sites to dive overboard? I mapped mine into a map (A-1, B-1, etc.) type form, but it doesn't do much good on flash maps with no coordinates. I find the file name of the grid map to be suspicious, though.

Hold up didnt 'we' imply that the ship was on Krawk island not mystery island even though it is on mystery island?

"So now where on Krawk island and Hoban's no where to be found?"

I noticed that, too. TNT is making us seem like bad interviewers.

Either us or them since they think up the questions "we" ask.... But then too, this IS TNT we're talking about here...

WHAT!? What about Orrin!?

What about the first mate shumi ?

and to compile up...

Based on Anshu and Bonju, Hoban was still there at 5. However, Anshu said that Hoban was having another quarrel at that time while Bonju said that Hoban was already relaxed.

Fom Bonju story, can be assumed that the quarrel from Anshu story was between Linae and Hoban. Weirdly, Linae didn't mention anything about the quarrel, and Anshu never mention that Linae helped him to fix the leak. And another thing...

1. Linae thought Anshu went down to the deck to check medical supply
2. Anshu went down to the deck to fix the leak (captain ordered him so)
3. Yet after that Linae went down to the deck to help Anshu fix the leak...

anyway about the contradiction it always could be a human mistake compiling the plot, or could be the real hint...

Looking at the grid map I think its a chart showing the ships progress durring the voyage. The x's are where the ship was each day, or when ever hoban took readings to check their course, and the line is the projected course. Each day as long as they're near the line there still on course for MI or wherever but to far off and they miss their landfall.

Probably jibberish :P

Anyway, since we are now able to use the map room, there has to be something to do, don't you think?

I totally agree! That red X looks like it could have been a moment in time when the ship was in the storm. Maybe that's where he "fell" out of the ship? The red marks could possibly be Hoban's trek out of the ship. But the only problem is that the red marks lead to KI, which is where the ship first went, and on the map, it shows the ship heading to MI. Ooo, or when Hoban is joking about sailing the ship into a storm, the red marks could prove that he actually planned it and wanted the ship to go to KI before MI...for some reason.
P.S: I'm psyched that TNT finally gives us a little piece of "evidence" to mull over instead of just conversations.
And I'm sure that everyone else noticed that while Linae said that her after-dinner conversation with Anshu was over how bad the food was, Anshu's version said that it was over a medical problem. Of course it could just be that Linae's medical condition was a stomache ache/food poisoning...or something else?

I'm finding myself obnoxiously twitchy now that we've gotten access to the *twitch* "map" *twitch* room...

That grid thing looks an awful lot like a NAUTICAL PLOTTING CHART.
and from what I understand, any Navigator spending any bit of time at sea being oh.. I don't know, a Navigator, perhaps? would call their nautical charts by their propper names... you know, such as CHARTS instead of MAPS.

ouigh, the things I get tetchy about...

*shrug*

The state of the chartroom err.. sorry.. "map" room, though...I'm sure I'm reading too much into the artistic license of the personage who drew it.
I can't help but notice the spilt ink and wonder at the thickness of it, to spill but not spread or drip down the tilted table.
(Then again, considering even for a moment how a ship rocks at sea and seeing that nothing in that room shows any evidence of having been secured for sea at all... and yes I know we see the ship in port, but still...)

On the plus side, it doesn't really retract from my enjoyment of the plot... just gives me something more to be... "observant" about.

But we haven't questioned him yet!
