The storm came upon them rather quickly...maybe it takes time to raise the wings or whatever and they just didn't have time before the storm hit...

I got the impression from the way the Captain retorted about the flying capability of the ship that it could take off and fly whenever it had the whim to. o_O

Hmm...*thinks* Well, I'd imagine it's pretty difficult to fly in inclement weather once it's already upon you.

Isn't it magical flight, though? Wouldn't that mean that the storm wouldn't affect it?

Edit: That's probably about right. I wonder if TNT laid off some workers, and that's why this plot sucks so bad...

Seems like the stories conflict a little. Probably intended as part of the plot? I wonder why the Chef would need a carving knife AFTER dinner. Something just doesn't add up and the wait is boring me. I hope we aren't going to have to remember each story to be able to discern in the end.

I am personally hoping Hoban went off to find our Altador plot prizes! :P

All speculation thus far seems to be around whether Hoban jumped ship on purpose or if there was maybe some foul play involved?

And what the heck is that thing on the neocam? LOL

Dude, I think that's a JibberJabber. It was this toy that basically made an amusing wah-wah sound when you strangled it.

Well, that's what I did with mine, anyway. >>

But yeah...I kinda suspect foul play, which is why the stories are different. I'm sure someone has something to hide, but we don't know who it is or why or what their motives are. Why would Hoban jump? But then again...why would he get pushed/tossed along with all their maps...unless someone else wanted to sabotage the ship itself and Hoban was just an unwilling and convenient victim...

Why would Hoban jump? Because during the time of the storm all the crew members EXCEPT Hoban were helping to navigate the ship. Chef claims he witnessed Linae and Anshu whispering about something, too.

Maybe Hoban decided to jump, feeling useless to the crew? If everyone thought I was bad luck and I was actually a good navigator, I might abandon them first to save myself from walking the plank in the future. ;)

EDIT: And of course take all the treasure maps with me. Hehehe.

The thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the chef was saying that he saw the chef at several one hour increments... and I think the last one could have been after the storm...

Yeah, I think that was after the storm. So why was Hoban locked in the store room anyway? Maybe Linae and Anshu did the mutany thing?

Gee, with so few crew members, one would think a good Captain could not only keep an eye on his crew, but trust they are honest and loyal. :P

i dont think we'll have to remember all the stories for the end but perhaps just find the consistencies and inconsistencies between the stories. We only have three views and the captains was'nt objective so we'll have to wait for the rest.

Snarkie: It could go to Faerieland.
Adam: But it's a ship.
Snarkie: So we'll make it a flying ship.
Donna: Sounds good to me.

:roflol: I so agree!

I think that the Bonju avatar somehow has a major (or just a medium) roll in this plot- 1.) I think its like record setting for being the longest unsolved 2.) It is the ONLY avatar that is Cyodrake's Gaze themed. 3.) Looks to me like Chef Bonju is the suspicious one. (as much as i hate to say it because i am trying to go to a college for a Culinary Arts major).

EDIT: How are they getting around with no maps or navigational tools¿ ...perhaps I have stumbled into that crazy thing known as "The Neopets Team Logic"...

But the Chef's knife was "mysteriously stolen" to begin with. I would think whoever took his best knife would be the more suspicious one. o_O

Well I have heard people say that the avatar was just nothing...nothing to do with the plot at all. I think it is a lil clue for us. Well depending on what this whole mess turns into. Perhaps once someone finds the method to getting it that will perhaps reveal more clues. Dunno just my ramblings! :)

The slowness of the plot...could be compared to when someone is whispering..they want to make sure your paying attention.
or
Bore us so much that we don't pay attention to everything / devel to deeply into things...as i have seen people do on these boards..and perhaps what I am doing too. :P<hr>

Well it could all be lies. He would have to have a reason for going to get the knife. I just have the misstrust towards him. I trust Kanatari's story more.

OH and everyone was talking about how the crew is so big on eating...well imagine working on a ship, its hard labor. Plus any Chef would want to emphasize his creation. :)

I mistrust Orrin. He is head of inventory (storeroom?), hesitated when he wanted to "finish up some extra work" before dinner, the Shoyru left dinner first to resume duties in the weapons room (?), then Chef mysteriously loses his best knife, Linae and Anshu are heard gossiping about something, somehow Hoban gets locked in the storeroom, yet somehow Orrin is the only witness to the scene of the crime yet conveniently can't explain anything?

During the storm, the Shoryu has trouble securing some brace on the starboard, where Chef mentions he remembers seeing Hoban later on, cleaning up a broken crate while Hoban was "busy being mad."

Dun dun dun ... :P

EDIT: I was confused between the Nimmo's and Shoryu's names. Whoever the Nimmo is, Orrin I assume, seems most suspicious to me but somehow the Shoryu's story doesn't add up to me either. Ahh yes Kentari is the Shoyru's name. Yah, something about him irks me, lol.

EDIT: Dur. I can't seem to get anything right. The Nimmo is head of inventory. So the Shoryu works in the weapons room? If the storeroom is inventory? Now I's confused.

Very sorry about that indeed! I knew about the edit but not about not post after one's own post! My apologies! I will read that forum now! erm...i have heard about the strike system...does that count as one?

Also- The Nimmo was lock in the storeroom because the captain locked him in there. thats what i get from the comics. and he (the nimmo) didn't finish before eating because..well i guess he was really hungry...?

Oh dear no. You only get one of them nasty strikes when you break a big rule. And you'd be contacted about that privately by PM. You have nothing to worry about. You're new here and we can't expect you to be perfect now can we? (Which is why I was particularly nice and descriptive in the Edit Note hehe)

And in reply to the pirateness, Boat = Pirates. *arr arr!*... even if the boat flies.

Don't worry, we are all entitled to that first double posting mistake.

To clarify, according to all the stories, Hoban was in a locked storeroom. I don't believe it is stated who locked it or why, but if anyone were to be the one to do it, I would think it would be the stockkeeper. Of inventory. Weapons are supplies. (?) So, Orrin, the Nimmo. Also, the Shoyru, Kentari, was the one that finished dinner first and noticed Chef coming out of the weapons room to replace a mysteriously vanished best knife of his. Hmmmmmmm. Everything still points to Orrin, the actual claimed witness of someone falling (or being pushed) overboard. I am dying for his story.

EDIT: And for the rest of ya scurvy ridden sea swine, I'm with Scott, there's a ship and people love to talk pirate, so ya better be lovin' that thar! :P Lest we makes ye walks the planks, see!? Hahahah. Sorry. Heh.
