So, the first episode is airing as I type this.

I didn't really watch the first one except for a few episodes. Those few I though were great, so I'm making sure I'm watching this one.

The first singers sound great. I'm glad there's a singer auditioning from here in Austin.

I watched. :)

My favorite is Patrice.

I had my mouth like wide open while Dilana was singing. How crazy was that.

I guess they want more of like a heavy metal person, and I don't like that type of music at all, so hopefully they don't get rid of all the people I like.

I watched a little of it on my break at work, and I really thought the girl who sang Nickelback's "How You Remind Me" didn't do a good job at all. It was actually really bad.

Yep, she's (Patrice) the Austin girl.

Dilana was really good. The girl who sang the song from Evanescence didn't do a very good job IMO.

I don't really like metal music either, but I like the show.

I'm surprised there's no one from California. :P

I like Josh (sang Black Crowes) and Dilanna was pretty cool. I thought Lucas was pretty good too. A little crazy but good. I also liked the guy who sang knockin on heavens door.

 I think it's really funny that a fellow Icelander is one one of the contestants. What did you think of Magni? :P

Okay, so tonight's episode was great. Dilana's cover of Cash's "Ring of Fire" was fantastic. She took a huge freaking risk taking a legend and legendary song and using it. But man, it sure did work.

And Toby, the Australian guy, who sang "Somebody Told Me" was also awesome. I thought that his cover of the song was a bit better than the song itself!

Lukas, who sang Coldplay's "Don't Panic", was pretty good. I don't think he chose a great song for that though. I liked how he gave it more of a rock twist, but it still wasn't a great song choice.

I watched the very end of the episode, so all I saw was Lukas. But when they were replaying some of the people who had performed before him, the only thing I was really focused on was whether or not there was a cutie to watch.

But I think I prefer Rockstar:INXS better, just because I adored MiG. Alas, he didn't win - which was ashame. But I rather believe their judgement was right by choosing the other guy, as he fit their band more.

I am :x that they chose Zayra over Chris! Zayra butchered the same song twice, horribly off key both times because that song wasn't written for some clueless twit who sounds like a drunken hound dog when she sings, dissed the judges ("I was in diapers when you made your music"), and said she bought 45 rpm records of the judges' old stuff AFTER saying she had only heard of Motley Crue. Umm yeah, I don't think those bands ever MADE 45s, sweetie. And then Chris comes on with his past experience and good looks  and sings that Tonic song acoustic so as to provide more depth and...bye bye. Chris is from Atlanta, too (my hometown), so I was cheering for him. Oh well.

Okay, so I think that Dilana will go all the way and win it. I mean, no matter what song she sings she does it great. Last night she did a pop song - "Time After Time" - and it was awesome. She fits the band perfectly.

And it seems that whenever a member of Supernova performs with one of the contestants, they do great. Jill was great when Gilby Clarke did the guitar. But then they get worse, as what happened with the guy than Jason performed with last week. He sucked this week!

I missed Jill's performance, but according to what I've heard from people over at TWoP (not linking since there's bad language), the overwhelming majority of people there say Jill's performance was terrible, and Gilby was actually avoiding her after her first...rub on him. And he called her out on it too.

So far most of the performers seem unspectacular to me, other than Dilana, who seems obviously above and beyond all if not most of the performers. Lukas has got his thing, but he's too arrogant and his voice is very throaty. I can't remember any other names, except for the spectacularly bad- namely Zayra with the cat suit.

I thought Jill's performance was great, other than the rubbing.

I think that if Zayra is in the bottom three next week again, she'll be booted off, because Phil was booted off only because he's been in the bottom for so long. And yeah, Lukas needs to open up his throat.

(Slightly off-topic, but I read the stuff from TWoP, and I'm surprised that they mentioned an Austin restaurant in there about Patrice. xD)

*watching it now and editing as it goes along*

Patrice- okay. I haven't even heard what the judges said or whatever. I don't care. That was not great. It was okay. EDIT: They say it was great. It was not. Lies, I tell you. It was just okay. I am comparing this to Chris Daughtry's performance of it during American Idol, and she had absolutely nothing on him. I don't even need to be so greatly in love with Chris Daughtry to say that.

Josh- Good. I hate that song. But he's good enough. The beat boxing, though, needs to go... and he gives me too much of a creepy boyband feel. Not Fuel esque boy band. NSYNC esque boy band. He's like... Ace Young, if you watched American Idol. Ace Young trying to do rock is what it felt like. Song choice didn't really help that, either.

Dilana- I love this chick. She is fantastic. Go her. Her hair is so amazingly crazy that it is fabulous. And who doesn't like a girl with a face full of metal?! Really, now. And she can sang. Not sing. Sang. You know. With the whole accent thing in it. But since I've heard a lot of people saying she's the favorite to win, that almost guarantees that she won't.

Toby- He was good. Stupid Dave Navarro. "Going into the crowd right after Dilana was a bit anti climatic." Shut up, Dave Navarro. I like this guy. Not bad at all. But it wasn't anything special. At least Zayra and Jill shoved their crotches in everyone's faces, to make it memorable. But Toby didn't really. But I feel sorry for him because of that, since he's not as bad as Zayra and Jill. He just doesn't have that thing about him that makes him memorable.

Zayra- Go away. You are not good. Plus, you wear a cape. And no pants. Worst performance I have seen (and heard) yet. If you have to resort to flashing the judges in order to get them to notice you, you suck. Dave Navarro is an idiot once again, ladies and gentlemen... "You give us something to look forward to every week". Yeah, her crotch...

Magni- Damn. I'm a sucker for hot bald guys that sing rock music and wear leather cuffs on their wrists. Also, in my only slightly biased opinion, he sang well. Despite small problem areas. But still... damn... hotness... overpowering...

Jill- She surprised me. I was not expecting that voice to come out of a skinny blonde chick. Her obsession with rubbing her crotch against whatever she can find is a bit disturbing, though. It wasn't fabulous, but it was alright. She's like the Rockstar version of Kellie Pickler (God, I have way too many American Idol references)...

Ryan- Fantastic. The piano playing is a plus... showing it's not just a voice in him. His performance gave me chills, especially seeing his facial expressions while he sang. Wow. Just wow. The song ended a couple minutes ago as I'm typing this, and I'm still getting those chills. Woah. Really good.

Lukas- The only word I can really fathom is 'eh'. He was alright. As a person who listens to rock music a lot (and I mean a LOT, and all different types), I can't really see myself ever listening to that on an album. Also, there need to be limits on eyeliner. Whether he's male or female... disgustingly too much. Ugh. Not to mention the glitter.

Storm- A nice voice. She managed to be beautiful without having to throw her body out at people, which apparently does not work for everybody else. I don't find this memorable, either, much like Toby's performance, but it was still good. Granted, I missed half of it because I was putting my guitar away because my fingers were beginning to throb, but out of what I heard... good job. Plus she totally has the rock star name down.

Dana- Something tells me this girl is horrendously underrated, because I never hear about her, yet she was really good tonight. Her voice is like Jill's in the fact that I didn't expect it to come out of a tiny brunette (well, Jill's blonde, whatever), but unlike Jill... I have no doubts that Dana's performance was good. She was off in a few spots, but she had great stage presense and over all... one of the best out of the girls.

My rankings:

1. Ryan
2. Dilana
3. Magni
4. Dana
5. Storm
6. Patrice
7. Toby
8. Lukas
9. Josh
10. Jill
11. Zayra
84. Dave Navarro

I haven't seen enough of them to form biases towards any of them, so... there's my list. :P

Haha, that gave me a good laugh. xD

Anyways, I agree with Zayra. Her voice is alright except when she hits some of the high notes. The only reason why they're keeping her on is because they want to see more of her.

Dana has an awesome voice, but I knew she was going to go one of these days because she's too innocent. :P I think, however, that she's going to get a recording contract anyway because she has a great voice.

Magni's performance was the best one I've seen from him yet. And that was really nice that Supernova is paying for his family to come over from Iceland.

And I didn't see it before, but Josh does have that boyband feel. Eww.

Dawn's Weekly Review: Volume Two.

Dilana- The whole thing where nobody wanted the song but her was crazy. If you're trying to get into a band, why would you be afraid to play with members of the band? Silly people. Anyway, the thing I like most about Dilana besides her awesome voice is her stage presence. She doesn't have to dress crappy to get people to notice her. It may just be her radioactive hair. She sounded fantastic, though, and her/Gilby together was awesome.

Jill- Damn. Jill's really, really hot. Like, seriously. Her voice didn't come across as flawless, though. Her whole crowd jumping thing was pretty cool. I disagree with the judge that said it was fantastic, though, because it wasn't. The judge that said the vocals were good until she started going psychotic... I agree with him. It was alright.

Ryan- He definitely had a lot to follow up for after last week's stellar performance. As a big fan of this song, I was not totally awed, but it was good. Like Jill, his vocals started faltering when he started getting too energetic. And what was up with the make up? This is Rockstar: Supernova, dude, not Batman: The Animated Series. I find it hilarious how they were talking about getting laid after his performance, and the camera flashed right to Zayra XD.

Storm- Huge risk with this song. This is basically a song that everybody knows- so if you mess it up, people will notice. As stupid Dave Navarro said, it's very hard to please people if you sing a Queen song, but she rocked it out. I didn't hear many errors, and overall it was impressive to me... I was indifferent to her after seeing her for the first time last week, and this has definitely made up my mind that she's a contender (to me, at least). Also. SEXY.

Zayra- Um... k. What the heck was she wearing?! Bright gold jumpsuits are not the new black, ladies. Neither are Abraham-Lincoln-Gone-Western hats. My favorite part of the performance was Magni on guitar. What a hottie... mm... anyway, she was alright. She lost it several times, but she managed to hit enough of the notes right for it to not suck completely. Despite the blinding light bouncing off her smurf in that ridiculous outfit, it was okay.

Josh- Little more rocker, little less boyband. Woo. Much better. His vocals faltered some, but overall... I liked it a lot. He really looked like he was enjoying himself up there- big smile on his face all the time. He also possesses his fair share of prettiness. His guitar was also very, very sexy. Points off for referring to Tommy Lee as "baby". Eww.

Magni- LIVE, awesome. I love LIVE. Anyway, Magni's guitar was most fantastic looking, and I was tremendously jealous. I like how he was playing by himself (and I noticed that before the judges pointed it out), with no other instruments to overdo it. I liked knowing his sound was purely his, with nobody else around to make it anything but his. He sounded great, his family was adorable, and he is the prettiest man I've seen since Chris Daughtry (this week, anyway).

Patrice- Her hair looks so silly. I didn't like her much last week, but this week, she was good. I didn't like how she randomly stopped playing guitar so she could move her mic stand, though... if you're going to bring an instrument on stage, then you need to actually use it. Even if you're not the only guitarist up there, it's just weird to stop playing all of a sudden and let someone else carry you. But vocally, it was pretty good. I still think her hair is silly, though.

Lukas- Hm. Radiohead. I like Radiohead. His voice sounded really good. This was a good song choice for him. Still too much eyeliner, though, and the high notes were not meant for him. His dancing was creepy though. He looked like disjointed his... um, everything. Lose the eyeliner, though, and it was great.

Toby- This performance was hot, man. Not only is Toby himself very attractive, he made the song hot. If you can make me want to download a song that you didn't even sing the original of (I don't download just anything... I'm too lazy :P), then you are pretty much fantastic. I, personally, thought the megaphone was awesome (shut up, Dave Navarro). A great ending to a great show.
