Catch-up time!

I easily defeated the witch doctor, but now i have the meerca henchmen to defeat but can't even get passed their second hit! It seems like such a big gap between enimies. Any advice on weapons, training (although most done by lab ray, i could train if required).
Your first pet is better, but neither is strong enough for the henchmen. They are beatable at strength 55 IF you have awesome weapons, and at strength 85 if you have good weapons. Your weapons are pretty good, so you're mostly going to need to train, or wait (quite a while) for the lab to raise your strength to 85. I'll assume you're not going to bother with defence at all, which I don't really recommend... but if you plan to do 1-player only, you can get by. You just won't be able to use any shields or dual-duties and will have to rely on full blockers like your ring or percentage blockers like downsize!.
Also, get rid of that bronze scorchstone! It's useless for both of your pets. Greater Healing Scroll heals 50 hit points and is much, much cheaper. Here's the set you should get:
Ring of the Lost
Stone Club (buyable)
Greater Healing Scroll (buyable, cheap)
Downsize! (buyable, cheap)
Purple Sticky Hand
Snowglobe Staff
2x one-use bomb, like a snowball or muffin, or a reflector or blocker or whatever
Eventually, you should also grab a Honey Potion, the best bomb until you're up in the 16+ icon weapon range.
Faerie abilities are a MUST, an absolute must. In my first post on this thread, I explained what each of them do. Basically, you can use probably two on full strength (usually burrow and sink) and one on medium (I usually use restore or regeneration, but it depends) during a battle. When you use one, it takes up some of the power in the green power bar beneath your pet. You do not want that power to go to 0, because if it does, nothing in the drop-down box, even your species ability and fierce, will have an effect.

Cranberry,
I followed your advise and bulked up a bit. I am getting killed by level 8 on defenders of myopia the villain is Mecca henchmen. What do I need to do and can you give me any advise on which abilities are worth using in the battledome.
Okay, your 85 boost is adequate to beat them, but your weapons aren't. These are the first really tough challengers in DoN; a lot of people have touble with them. You're probably going to need a stronger weapon like one of the new 9-iconers (Stone Club, Ice Club, Golden Compass (which I recommend, as it's a dual-duty), Pike Pike, etc.). And you're going to need a freezer; even a cheap one like Snowglobe Staff will do. And train that level up to 50 to get berserk.
Weapons:
9-iconer
Cloudy Wand of Storms
Snowglobe Staff
Oriental Fighting Fan (1-use bomb)
Thick Smoke Bomb (1-use full blocker)
Downsize!
Greater Healing Scroll
Leaf Shield
Round 1: Snowglobe Staff (withdraw and heal if freeze fails), Downsize!, best species ability
2: Two strongest weapons (9-iconer and 1-use bomb), berserk
3: Two strongest weapons (9-iconer and wand), burrow
4: Two strongest weapons, sink
5: Strongest weapon, thick smoke bomb (only if you know you can kill them this round), berserk
You could switch it up a bit -- if you feel you need to heal, you could use the GHS while burrowing or sinking instead of using two weapons. If you think you could get by in one of the rounds with a leaf shield instead of burrow or sink, you could try that. But you probably should shell out for the one-use bomb and the thick smoke bomb, plus upgrade to one of the 9-iconers (a few of which are actually buyable) if you want to continue on in DoN.
Also, I listed all abilities worth having in my first post on this thread.

First of all, I listed the abilities worth having in my first post on this thread, so check that. And you should definitely train -- keep your strength and defence balanced and always try to have more hit points than either str or def. If you want to get as many stats as you can for the cheapest price, take advantage of the fact that hit points can be trained to 3x your level. Train exactly like this:
Level to 20 (one codestone)
Strength and Defence to 40
Hit Points to 60
Level to 40 (two codestones)
Str and Def to 80
HP to 120
Level to 80 (three codestones)
Str and Def to 160
HP to 200 (be careful here -- note that the next pay level starts 20 levels later, not 40 like before, so you can't train the max 3x)
Level to 100 (four codestones)
Str and Def to 200
HP to 240
Level to 120 (five codestones)
Str and Def to 240
HP to 300
Level to 150 (six codestones)
etc. I'm sure you can figure it out from here.As for weapons: okay, sell that shield! I'll suggest a much cheaper one below that blocks the same type and amount of icons as it, plus three of an extra type. I'll assume you can get a couple hundred thousand at least, so I'll suggest a decent set.
Stone Club
Ice Club (or Golden Compass, if you're feeling spendy -- it's great)
Red Scorchstone (upgrade to Greater Healing Scroll when you hit 50 hp)
Green Frost Cannon (or Snowglobe Staff, which freezes twice as often)
Leaf Shield
Mystical White Cloak (blocks different icon types than shield)
Scarab Ring (it's still good up to at LEAST the 35 boosts, even 55)
One-use bomb like a good snowball or muffin
Good dual-duties, if you like those, are Cloudy Wand of Storms and Frozen Wand of Crystals, so maybe eventually look into one of those. You will also need a Honey Potion in the future, maybe when you hit the 55 boosts. At the moment, I suggest you train up to the 35 boosts in strength and defence and buy the weapon set I suggested above... then worry about upgrading again after you've trained to 55.

The Scarab Ring is probably what needs to go the most, but is there anything I should upgrade to before I make the haul for a Honey Potion? (My current budget really isn't an issue, as my income is pretty good and this is for the future.)
That looks like a pretty good set, so a Honey Potion is probably the next thing you should add, yeah. You could also exchange the Leaf Shield for a dual-duty like Frozen Wand of Crystals if you like. Then you could use it and your wand of storms when people came at you with water and earth, getting a lot more attack icons in while still blocking almost as much as leaf shield. Then you could keep the scarab ring around for fire and phys defence, and would be able to block all icon types (which is very nice in 2-player). So:
Golden Compass
Cloudy Wand of Storms
Frozen Wand of Crystals
Stone Club
Scarab Ring
Mystical White Cloak
Downsize!
Greater Healing Scroll
As for freezers... perhaps you should think of changing your pet to a Lenny? The mutant Lenny is a nice fierce-looking battle pet, and Lennies have an awesome species healer (bag of Lenny healing seeds, 50%) and two H4K-esque 100% freezers (Lenny Ray Gun OR Entangling Lenny Lasso, whichever is cheaper). Now, of course those are all pretty expensive, but you can get both a healer and freezer for the price of one H4K Helmet (or maybe even less than that), so it's worth looking into.
I think that's everyone...
