I've been going into the symol hole every day for the past couple of months and nothing has ever happened. Does this hole ever actually give you anything. Is it random or, like coltzan's shrine, does it deppend on when you go in. As well does it matter which of the methods your petpet uses to enter?

You can get all sorts of things from it.It's random I think.

The way I understand it is that everyone has a random hour that they can win. So if you weren't succesful at one point, you can return later in the day. I have won neopoints, books, articles of clothing and have raised the petpet level.

Can it hurt your petpet? I mean other than level changes.

I thought TNT confirmed that it was completely random, and while someone might get something on their first visit, while someone else might never get anything from it at all...

I belive it was covered in the editorial at one point and it is completly random.... some peope,l are just luckier then others....... dang them.

Yeah, it's based on randomness.

It took about a year to get my symol avatar (I got a symol t-shirt from it). But before the avatar was released I'd got small amounts of neopoints twice.

The Symol hole is random, but you can jump in the hole as many times in one day as you want.

I got the avatar by hitting backspace, refreshing and changing how my petpet jumped in. It took me about 45 minutes.

interesting technique, I'll have to try that. I've never gotten anything from it.

I've only ever received one item from the symol hole, and it was a mirror of some sort. There was only one other like it in the trading post, and it was unbuyable in the shops. I thought it was pretty weird.
What sucked was that it was on one of my secondary accounts, so I never got the avatar.

I have never, ever, ever gotten anything from the symol hole.

except, sometimes, i see in the url address bar, that the &av=0 is on... meaning that I had a chance to get the av, but the randomizer said "nope sorry, you can't have it this time."

The only thing I've ever gotten are those little messages that say, "Hang on, your pet looks a little different" (not the actual message, since I forgot), which is another way of saying that you get nothing. Woe is me.

Absolutely nothing. Ever. Ick.
