Everyone's seen The Sixth Sense and knows the thing about 'they don't know they're dead'. Well they don't, they really don't. Most of the ghostsly stuff happened before I was born or before I can remember (I like to think they eventually got used to us, or maybe we got used to them to the point of not noticing them so much) but this I do remember.
Our ghosts played pool. That sounds so crazy. But we would be downstairs, and hear the unmistakable sounds of a game of pool happening above us, when no one was up there. We'd hear the balls hitting eachother, the sticks tapping the floor, footsteps circling the table, and often the balls hitting the floor and rolling across it (our pockets were made from woven leather straps, and sometimes balls slipped through).
I don't remember most of the stuff that happened, I just have stories told by my family. But growing up, the little things kept happening, hearing whispering voices, the feeling that you're not alone, feeling cold spots. Even so, I wouldn't go upstairs by myself until I was 12, and even then it was eerie.

If the pool balls were rollign across the floor, obviously your ghosts weren't particulaly good at pool. Secondly, I've had what you describe as an 'old hag attack', its more like every muscle in your body clenching so hard you can't breath or move for me.

DiscordantEdit: that was a bit long of a quote there. I deleted a portion of it so it isn't as bad.

I guess most Chinese believe in ghosts and etc. And you can tell because when a Chinese person dies, loads of paper things are burnt and you will notice because one sheet of money thingy worths more than 10 thousand. (and thus concludes that the expenses are quite high "down there") back to the topic now:

In the newspapers (in Hong Kong) something about ghosts were reported.

The first one was that 4 teenagers went into a house that is pretty old and scary and attempted to be "ghosts busters" (insanity...) and well, all of them came screaming and ran out of the house. One of them had this "ghost in body" thing because her voice changed to a man's voice and well, she went insane and the other 3 had to try and control her. The police came afterwards to help them and etc. But I just thought it was scary. And really, it is.

There are several "haunted houses" in Hong Kong. A man lives opposite one. That house was empty for ages and was really quiet; then one night it became very noisy and the man looked at the window and saw loads of people dressed in old chinese fashioned clothes and a servant girl smiled at him. He's the kind of person who can "see things" and well, ghosts know when you can see them.

I'm not supposed to tell everyone, but there is a urge to, so I will.

My uncle studies Fung Shui and well, I think he has that kind of power to "see things". Before he got married, he used to take a walk "down there". God knows what he does, but according to my mum, he burnt some money for himself and stores them in the bank for his future use. Besides from that, he visits my grandma (mum's side). My grandma died when I was a baby and my uncle visits her. Unfortunately and fortunately he can't go there as often because: 1-his wife wouldn't let him 2-it wastes a LOT of energy. But as far as I know from him, my grandma is reincarnated and stuff.

My uncle said that people with the power to "see things" have to go through a ritual and it's usually unmarried men (yes, men -__-). And you ask why he still has that power? He learnt it all before he got married (at this point I just have to really say he's clever!). He said that because ghosts know that you have that power, sometimes they do things to scare you. Such as taking off the head and taking out guts and etc. Won't go into details. They do practical jokes (peeeh) to scare you and etc. Usually people with those kind of powers have to tolerate it.

It's the fault of the pool table though, the pockets didn't hold the balls very well, so they'd fall out and roll.

Ouija boards are mostly subconscious. Like an oracle. It tells you your deepest thoughts- that's why it seems to show all the answers correctly. Your deepest thoughts are quite often disturbing, and that's why people are afraid of them.

I still do believe in ghosts though. A form of them though.

I believe in ghosts. I could name many reasons, but I'll just give light information on a couple things.
I've seen a girl with long blonde hair wearing all white walking through my house before. She never passes my new bedroom, though, and stays in the kitchen, hall and my mother's room. I've heard in this house a child crying and a woman screaming. Often I hear things whispering or muttering.
Also, in the room that is now my bedroom (it was my sister's), whenever I go to bed, if the room is completely silent and dark then something will sit on my bed.
When it was my sister's room I came in here to sleep one time, as I didn't have a bedroom and had to sleep on the living room couch. When I lied down, a few minutes later, something sat on the bed with me, after walking around. I could only barely see it. Then, I felt the presence of something that somehow enterted my mind as a canine, and I heard a panting.. Then I started panting also, a sharp pain in my chest... Needless to say I rushed out of the room. >_<

I've heard things calling my name before, and that's been going on since I was like 5. So I don't know if its just all in my head or not.

As for ouija boards.. I'm not really sure about them. I believe in them, ofcourse, but I've never used on, really. My friend who used to be big on ghosts and I used her brother's once. After that a lot of really creepy stuff started happening to us, especially her. She apparently always had a feeling something was following her after we used the ouija board. I don't even remember what was asked and answered or anything, though. o.o;

Lots of ghost-related stories to tell here...
In my former school, there was a triangular plot of land with a weird tree hanging into the plot of land at the far end. People said it was haunted.
Then it was the apartments beside the plot of land. I had no idea whether it was true or not.
Then, it was a weird phenomenon of the gaps in between the roof and the walls in a nearby shed(still talking about my former school). I saw the colour change with my own eyes.(Not very well explained  )A few years later my teacher said a scout died after falling from the roof in the 60's. My teacher said he climbed up to retrieve a soccer ball. Now that place had been converted into a chapel 0:)
I've also seen lots of stories and articles on the supernatural, like the half-cliched ability to see them with the naked eye. I still remember a bizarre one, where a person went to meet his old friend and asked him to take care etc. That friend saw on the news later that he had died in some plane crash. So that friend who died in the crash was like a hologram thingy.
After all these years, such things still frighten me and it really hard to say whether they're true or not.

Chass, your stories are scary. Didn't your ghosts turn all the furniture upside down once too?

Gone, forever.

No, the only thing involving furniture being flipped was just that one chair getting turned over.

Yesterday we were watching a history thing on the Alamo, and my dad said out of the blue (I hadn't even told him about this topic or anything), "You know, the Alamo is said to be one of hte most haunted places there is. They even have ghost tours, and sometimes people see ghosts." That was really freaky, because the closest I had come to talking about this was my brother asking the name of the Castle (which we never found out :x ).

On the subject of Ouji Boards... I'm not sure if this happened to my dad or one of his friends or what, but yeah... I'll just use my dad...

My dad was in college, and one time he went to his room, his roommate and some of his roommates friends were playing with a Ouji board. My dad said something (I can't remember what, it's been along time since I've heard it and I only heard it once) and then the planchette flew at him. It hit him pretty hard and he was at the door and the others were on the other side of the room... pretty freaky.

And I'm sure everyones heard this legend about a Ouji board. It had this marking on it or something, and it got thrown away. When it was found, the house that it was in had a fire. It should have been burnt to a crisp, but it was just sitting there, not a burn mark on it.

Ok, THIS is scary. I guess it's best not to mess with the supernatural (quoted from my friend when we were messing around in the corner of the bookshelves about divination and etc.)

My favorite "Ghost Shows" are MTV's Fear, Scariest Places on Earth, and the Blair Witch Project. What makes the effect more creepy for all those is the use of the home video camera. Good, but scary shots.

What is the Blair Witch?.....I Know...The Truth is Out There.

Tehe, I love ghost stories, no matter how much they creep me out.

I believe in ghosts, to some extent. I find them difficult to believe in at times, despite all of the stories that I've heard. But I think there are some out there, and I think that some are good and some are evil.

I've never seen any ghosts before, despite how much I would like to. I've heard things, though. A few months ago, I was sitting in my room on my computer with my radio off. It was pretty late at night, about 11:00 or so. I turned off my computer and was getting ready for bed and I started to hear noises in my room. It sounded like an orchestra or something like that, because I could hear trumpets and cymbals. I got scared and opened my door to see if it was coming from out in the hallway, but I couldn't hear anything by standing out there. I thought it was my brother's stereo for a moment, but I was listening and realized that his stereo wasn't even on.

I really want to go visit some haunted places. I think it would be fun to go to Gettysburg. I've always wanted to go there, because there are so many things that happened there and so many stories about ghost sightings. *Shivers*

I don't believe in ghosts at all, but I do believe that 'supernatural beings' exist. (ie: Angels, demons, etc.) Let me elaborate. 'Ghosts' are supposedly people who have died. If you're dead, you're gone from this world.

Whether or not you believe this, it's your own affair, but I do. My uncle cast some 'demons' out of someone, and he said you could see them flying around the room. *shivers* Scary!

What is a ghost called if it hasn't been born yet?

My dad was driving around with his brother, and suddenly he yelled "Stop!" There was a little girl with brown hair and blue eyes in a blue-checkered dress with 6 white buttons crossing the road, that only he could see. Then she dissapeared. Thinking they had run her over, they went out to check, but noone was there.

When he was on his mission he was feeling really, really, low. That same girl appeared in front of him and said "It's alright, Daddy."

That girl was me. That was my favorite dress when I was around that age, and ever since I grew out of that dress I have not liked another one.

(I forgot to post this in my last post) Old Hag attacks? I think I've gotten those before. Some were in the day time, and some were at night. If I'm laying on my back, it feels like I've just been falling for a long while, but didn't stop falling yet, and if I'm on my stomach (I toss and turn in my sleep) it feels like I've been floating up.

And the other day ago, I woke up wide awake with a gasp. The dogs weren't barking, so it wasn't anybody (alive) sneaking around. I didn't find out what happened, and still don't have an explanation...

.

Something like that happens to me too...
Its like I just fell asleep and and all of a sudden I feel like I skipped a step and i'm falling, and then I wake up with this big jolt... Its scary.

As for ghosts...
Once a few years ago, I was in bed (and I have this pretty high bed), a heard breathing, and I felt it on me too.... Then I heard footsteps leaving my room, and the breathing stoped.

And sometimes I hear voices from my pillow, or a hear the television on.
It terrifies me. The only thing that makes me less scared, is my dog, which i'v had for about 2years.
He sleeps under my bed, and I feel so much safer that way.

And another thing that makes me feel better is knowing that i'm not the only one who encounters strange stuff.
