I've recently been busy building up a petpet/pet database, ie. you know with all the pets in their different colours etc etc etc.

Now at the moment I'm busy manually inserting all the petpets... let me first say, dear freaking word there are a lot of them.

But a few of them caught my attention:

1) You get a Bloop, a Bloopy and a Blooky and they are in fact different species. Anyone else getting the idea they've run out of naming ideas?



2) The Drackobunny ... reminds me of Monty Python: Quest for the Holy Grail



3) The Drackonack - am I the only noticing the similarity here?


4) The Dribblet - One finds oneself asking, "Why?!"


I know! Let's make a petpet that looks like a tongue!

No, no, it gets worse:


Ooh ooh ooh! Let's add faerie wings to it!

5) The Intesteen - See 4) and add "Ummm...ewww"


Squeeeee!

6) The Jinjah - *snicker* Jinjah like ginger, just not *snicker* get it... ok no wait that's just terrible.



7) The Kadaotie - Mutant?


That just looks like my cat when it's wet.

8 ) The Meepit - It threatened to stare at me forever unless I put it in the list.



9) The Faerie Seti - Now that's just cool, not very faeryish but bloody cool.



10) The Goople - May I introduce you to the only petpet with no Default colour, it's default is Orange. No, I don't mean the default is simply orange coloured, I do in fact mean Orange. Don't believe me? Go on, go look in the petpet puddle.



11) The Snowickle - It's a baby Snowager!! Yeah yeah I know I'm slow and that you all probably already knew that.



12) The Vacana - Not so much about the pet, more a petpet puddle glitch. There are two default Vacana's, exactly the same.


No, no you are mistaken, he has a tiny freckle that I don't and I'm 6mm taller.

General interest:

* There are currently more than 213 different petpet species. (Not counting those not appearing in the petpet puddle.
* 29 of them's name begins with an 's'.
* The petpet with the most colours is the Babaa with 27 followed by the Kadoatie, the Slorg and the Warf on 25.
* The colour appearing most often (apart from default) is Blue. 93 petpets can be painted this colour. Second is Green with 83.
* The least popular colour is Clay on 7 followed by Orange on 8.

The similarity is due to the Drackobunny being created by the Cooking Put with a Drackonack and a Snowbunny.

The most bizarre petpet to date, though, has to be the Romeep 3t3. When I first saw it in the lists of Petpet Central I was absolutely dumbstruck. Here he is:

It's what you get when you put a Meepit and a Roburg 3T3 in the Cooking Pot, don't know if it's still active though, but I mean... what the hell?! As if the Meepit Cult they built up wasn't freakish enough already, now it's Meepits from outer space.

Yep, it's still active, I got that mutation from the petpet lab ray once, I stared at it for ages with my mouth open, my husband eventually came up behind me to see what was wrong and shouted (no joke he shouted)
"OH MY GOD IT'S STEALING MY SOUL!"
and promptly ran out of the room. lol

You know, I was just thinking, what if this is just a colossal joke from TNT? Meepits? Meepits from Space?

Speaking of strange Petpets, what is up with the three varieties of Spoppy, Spoppy II and Spoppy III? Are they just a Lab Ray easter negg?

The Romeep and the Zamillion are the only robot-nonrobot hybrids that I can think of so far.


Is it true that Baby Space Fungus come from the NeoCola Machine?

Spoppy was a hybrid of a poppit and a spyder, but the other 2 variations, I think were a staff-only petpet, but I don't know the exact specifications.

I remember having the Petpet Lab Ray turn my Abominable Snowball into a Jelly Meepit. That was cool.

Oh I don't know, it actually seems less scary in this form.

Hmm the first one is just my opinion, but almost all the worlds in Neopia have a petpet shop. Maybe TNT had to add more petpets to sell in respective shops.

I thought orange was a popular colour

hrobi used to work for Neopets.... which is why she has one. There are a good bunch of Spoppy II's given out as gifts to the staff a looong time ago, and then there are only two spoppy III's known to man.
