Scammer Warning -- Read Me!

Sun Jul 16, 2006 5:20 pm

(Mod, you may wanna sticky this)

A friend of mine has recently told me that there's a scammer going around Neo going by the username of creator_of_pink_pt. They're saying that they're Yukio, the "female" creator of PPT.

Be alert. :o
This may also have something to do with the CGers, but I'm not sure.

Don't be silly, DM, we all know that our webmaster's real name is Yukio and he wears expensive dresses.

Sun Jul 16, 2006 5:43 pm

Really? I haven't seen him in a dress.
There's a side of <s>Kym</s> Yukio we haven't seen. o_o

Forgive me for being on the dim side, but how is this "scamming"? What has the use done that makes them a scammer? (Aside from impersonating someone... is this scamming?) And sorry for all the questions, but are you sure this person's behind the Trading Post cgs?

@charlixsparkles: well, it's identity theft... you're misrepresenting yourself (saying your somebody you're not) and that's a scam. Plus, (in theory) this person could use the rep of PPT... eg. posting a scam trade and saying "you can trust me, I made PPT!" or wreck it. If someone was pretending to be you, wouldn't you want to stop it? (even if all that person did was say "I am charlixsparkles" over and over again) Hope that helps.

I totally agree! look at this:
Welcome to PinkPt.com's Shop. And yes it's true im Yukio the creator of pinkpt.com with the help noa,jacob,the_dog_god,.

Would you like for someone to misrepresent you like this?

Sun Jul 16, 2006 11:26 pm

They say that like I helped created PinkPT :P How cute, they couldn't even find the staff page XD

One of my friends had a short conversation with "Yukio".

Friend: "I don't believe you are Yukio because Yukio is male..."
"Yukio": "Nope I'm a female."
Friend: "Really? Cause I know the owner personally and last time I checked, he was pretty much male."

They haven't replied yet, I dont know if they will..

if you get a reply, it might read something like this: After a lot of soul searching, I went and got a sex change operation *sniff* will you still accept me for that? *sniff sniff*

OK, thanks, I understand it now :) Sorry for asking stupid questions

This scares me greatly.

It sounds like something Kym would say.

I would imagine that when/if Yukio reads this, he'll contact TNT. They've had some interaction before, and I don't know if Yukio has any backdoor contacts into the staff or anything like that - but they certainly know Yukio's a dude, and even a basic contact report ought to be enough.
