Has anyone else noticed a surplus of pop ups on the site recently. It's so frustrating. I have to have the blocker off for the site so I can do the flash games, and it's irritating. There's one specifically that won't let you close the window till it's done loading! ARGHHHH.

Do you have the ads while browsing Neopets? It sounds like one of the advertising ads has an embedded popup in it.

I use Firefox, and I haven't noticed any popups in the past month or so. o_O Maybe you somehow contracted spyware on your computer (I had one program that would send out a popup every 30 seconds, even if the browser was closed; ruddy annoying, and it took me a month to kill it). Have you tried running ad-aware or spybot?

I am using Firefox now because of the bl4ck.com virus that I keep getting everytime I use Internet Explorer for Neopets. Since switching to FF I have only seen one embedded animation that tricked me and redirected me to Best Buy.

I got a pop up a few weeks ago. I thought it was spyware and I scanned and nothing came back.

You should do it weekly especially if you use Internet Explorer. I've had no problems with pop ups or malicious ads on Neopets. Using Firefox though.

I get the "Your Opinion Matters" pop up quite frequently. I haven't ever had any of the other pop-ups though.

I've noticed a few in the last couple of days actually, very odd. I've mentioned them to neopets since they've got a no pop-up policy.

Months have gone by since I've brought pop-ups to their attention. Nothing. Also that bl4ck.com virus, that should be a priority to fix.

One of the ads on the Neopets site downloads a file to my computer and fills my screen with a blank window, then pops up a java script demanding that I "click yes" I have to ctrl+alt+delete to close all of my browsers when it happens and Zone Alarm warns me that it has detected a virus called bl4ck.com. It always manages to clean it up, thank goodness. I have a lot of software on my computer designed to detect spyware and viruses and it scans everyday.

I posted about my experience here and someone suggested that I use Firefox as a browser instead. I am glad I switched. While using Firefox I have yet to encounter anything like that. But occasionally I forget and logon to Neo using IE and every stinking time I have used IE since I have run into that stuipid bl4ck.com virus.

Correction: AVG caught it, not Zone Alarm and bl4ck.com is a trojan.

I've never had issues with pop ups or virius from neopets. I would recommend making sure whatever antivirus software you use is up to date (even if you have live update on double check you're updated) Also make sure if you use spybot ect it is up to date. RUN then... if you keep gettin a popup check the url of the pop up and then use google (or another search engine) and see what you can find about it. Alot of bots can be removed by hand if you can find out HOW to do so. Good luck :)
