The prices have started to fall again.
Any reason why?

I just bought a Tai-Kai and Har codestone for 3800np each and a Bri for 2600np.

Even the Eo codestones are around the 6700np mark

ONLY 6700NP?? i guess that's better, considering it was 7k for a while. the neopian economy is probably changing, or they're being used at a lower rate, or perhaps our strategy of not buying them from hoarders is working as well

I have noticed this also, I think the prices may have gone up temporarily because because didn't believe the editorial about there not being a war, or were selling all the codestones they had stored because there ISN'T a war.

I bought a Lu and a Main Codestone from a user's shop for 100NP each, and then another Lu for 200NP from a different user's shop.

;)

I'd be careful about those really cheap codestones. If something looks too good to be true it probably is. I'd be worried about cookie grabbers and the different kind of cheating device shops have a now that only activates when you click on an item. It makes you buy a bunch of junk items. You might think you're just buying a 100np code stone but you might end up also buying 22 5k palm fans without even clicking them

I don't think it's possible to put the code for stuff like that in shops any more since TNT put in the code checking system on shops, petpages etc.

Signature, eh? We'll see about that...

In fact, TNT have had codes like that for a long time. The person I had purchased codestones from was a newbie, as he only had those two codestones, and no other items in his shop. ;)

I believe its because schools out and more younger kids are playing. More random events to players who do not train, supply goes up and prices fall.
I noticed this happening over christmas vacation also.

It's cheaper on SSW!
I love premium!

I think it's because the use of codestones are going down and dubloons are raising. Translation: People are using dubloons now because their prices have lowered and some people on neopets like to take these advantages. This is only temporary I think...

It's pretty common for most codestones to be about 4-5K each. (Higher in wartime, of course.) Bri's always been cheaper than average because it's occasionally given out by the Wheel of Monotony. Main's almost always been the most expensive codestone. The only real oddity I've seen lately is the price of Eo Codestones, which shot up to around 7K at one point for reasons that are still unclear to me. (At one point I considered labbing Drilax again and possibly losing his spiffy Spotted Koi-ness, just because the Training School kept asking me for Eo Codestones. :( ) But good to see those are coming down, finally.

My guess as to why codestones are deflating overall? The Altador plot's over, and so is much of the speculation about a war. I'm sure some hoarders were hoping for one even though the Editorial repeatedly said there wasn't going to be a war this time around. Still, people like to step up the training during plots anyway, I guess, no matter what the official word is.

I can tell you one reason why codestones were going up and up and then suddently fell: The NCW 1-player war. A bunch of BD guilds are participating in this war (all the biggies -- Battlers Pride, Celestial Dawn, Phoenix Warlords, Cursed Exiles, etc.), and there are 750+ battlers signed up. Everybody's been training like mad to be ready for it, and now that it's actually started (just over a week ago), they've stopped training because battlers are divided into 24 different leagues by stats and people don't want to move up into a new league, especially if they're at the top, score-wise, of their current one.

Of course, the Altador Cup also plays a part -- a lot of people misunderstood the editorial a few weeks back and thought we were getting a June war. When they saw we really aren't, they stopped hoarding the stones. Prices are now pretty steady around 3900-4000 for everything except Bri (3200-3300) and Main/Eo (6500 or so, sometimes less).

Also, Lutari Island supposedly has its own training school, which will use a different currency. Look for codestones to perhaps drop in price even more once that's released and people start training there.

That's probably where those strange beads are used.
