Hunting means you will encounter monsters more often. :) You should stay on hunting as much as possible, as it gets you more experiance. :D

I've been on hunting up until 2/3 through Act 3, then I switched to Normal cause I was sicksicksick of 4 monsters every two steps.

Be on hunting ALL the time... You'll regret not being on Hunting later in Act 4 when you won't be able to defeat the faeries. Overtrain while it's easy. I just started Act 4 at level 40, and I still think I won't be able to beat the Faeries, since you need to be min. 46 for them.

I'm on my way to fight Terask II (and finally finish the game, it's been two years, I think  ). Any survival tips?

Does anyone know (roughly) what kind of damage SoA does to Terask II? Because I was using FS against him last night and it was pretty terrible, doing a max of about 89 damage.

Im in the middle of fighting Terask II on Evil right now, and also managed to get SoA for the first time. So far, critical hits have consistantly looked like this:

Rohane scores a critical hit!
Rohane takes 22 damage from King Terask's energy shield!
Rohane slashes King Terask for 69 damage!

I finally got a hit in with his Protection of Infinity down, and its:

Rohane scores a critical hit!
Rohane slashes King Terask for 83 damage!

Regular attacks are pretty low. Rohane has hit him for 10, 19, 26...etc. Talinia is often doing more damage. Without Protection of Infinity cast, Rohane has had regular attacks up to 61.

FS seems a good bit better. I could manage 100 damage with it every few hits, with 89 being the standard. SoA is amazing on regular monsters though. Critical hits on them were 168 damage, which made it a lot faster to get to Terask II.

Ive beaten Terask II without FS or SoA, so Im not extremely worried about losing, its just going to take longer.

Try not to fully heal them unless you have to- if they're missing a little bit of HP and one of them gets mesmerised then Velm can cast Group Heal and hey presto, unmesmerisation! Though you can get super unlucky (like I did on Evil) and have Velm mesmerised. That really does suck, I must say.

I am playing NQ II on evil right now and I saw weapons and armor being sold that had higher damage and defense ratings than my current equipment. However, my equipment adds points to the level of the skills I have. I want to know how much the ratings affect the damage and defense and when it would be best to trade in the weapons with skill points.

Why do I post? Because it sends the thread to the top of the page. I LIKE THAT POWER!

Well you should never be buying wands/staffs for Mipsy & Velm, as their melee attack is pointless when they have a magical attack. Otherwise I tend to upgrade from a found to a bought weapon/armour only if there's a really significant increase in their defense or attack. I'm pretty sure there is a difference in damage done when there's a significant increase in attack points, but it's kinda hard to judge defense levels, as usually after shop areas the monsters get stronger and so do more damage anyway.

Well, I'm sure this is a pretty [well look at that. A certain word is replaced with the phrase "New Member". Go figure.]-ish question for a first post, especially considering I've already beaten NQII at both normal and evil, but I'm considering taking on Insane, and I wanted to know if the prizes you get are related to how quickly or how well you get through the game...or are they utterly random? Because it's pretty likely that if I start now, I'll be very slowly playing it for the next year. Is it better for me to start later when I can devote more time to it and finish more quickly?
