I've been reading for a bit. I made a comment a while back and it ended up being the end of the thread :x so I'll say it again. I really don't like this game. It seems extremely unfair. The computer is capable of using all four players where I'm only permitted to use one at a time, creating a terrible disadvantage. Now, a gamer might be able to play a game like this, but the average Joe/Jane would not be able to...I being the average Jane. So, I know this is isn't the majority's opinion, but it's mine, so there it is.

The probability of Faerieland losing that much is unforgiving. There weren't even any other teams with 300,000 scores let alone 200,000.

I mean, it would be impossible, just look at this graphical breakdown:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v63/myname7772/CUP.jpg

But on top of that, I hope I can change teams, defect if you will, to another team and get a better trophy as I am expecting this (sponsor) event to be kept running.

Save the trees! Don't do homework!

It's a matter of practise. I was getting owned the first few games against the practise team too, but it's easy enough to take control of.

The computer has a few advantages. They don't generally play two players at a time, but they can switch and aim instantatiously and perfectly, and they have both an offensive and defensive default position they can send their entire team into at once while we can only hit shift to send all our players back into one starting position. (people, use this! it eases things up a lot if you don't score on your first attempt). Their single biggest advantage is the automatic goalkeeper, but if we had one of those they'd never score a goal.

But the computer is also completely and utterly predictable. They can do one of three things at the start of the game (all of which are easily responded to), and from there on their every next move is perfectly deterministic. When they get the ball, I can tell with 90% success rate exactly where it's going to be in x seconds, and ofcourse be there myself. There are various no-fail scoring paths that'll only screw up if you do, or a faerie/mutant ball isn't playing nice.

Honestly, the game is easy. Play 3 more games and see how you're doing then, then come back to complain if it still isn't working.

lol...you make it sound as if I didn't give it a shot...perhaps I should have explained that I played for about two hours and didn't win a single game (scored probably 5 goals total). They tend to move all four players around, at least while I'm playing. Maybe the game hates me...lol

I have to say I was surprised by the scores, I thought for sure that FL would give us a run for our money, in fact I thought it was more likely that FL would win and was getting ready to switch to them.

Edit: How do you change the numbers to change the team your against?

I waant to change my strategy for against Darigan sincce if I'm correct(which i think I am for once) the next round will be Krawk Island vs Brightvale

MI vs darigan

Haunted woods vs lost desert

and meridell vs Roo Island

They move them all around, but there's generally only one pseudo-intelligently coming after you. The rest are simply moving from their current locations to pre-determined points in the field and ignore whatever you do. The only ones you ever have to pay attention to are the one running after you (which will be whichever one is closest) and the keeper, or when they have the ball the one with the ball and the one they're going to pass it to (which is very predictable). So effectively, there's only ever two opposing players that matter, the rest can be pretty much ignored.

But if you tried and didn't win anyway then alright, maybe this is just not for you.

Well, as a Meridellian supporter who is Amazed (with a capital A) to see us win against Maraqua, I now know we have problems, and are almost certain to lose in this next round, because we came seventh out of the winning teams. Seventh is not good. Eighth would be better, because then, all the uber-magnificent players from knocked-out teams wanting a challenge would go to Roo Island, leaving Meridell with the fewest supporters. So, please, if you want to support an underdog, definately consider Meridell. Or Meriqua, however you want to call it.

And, if they sort it by popularity, that'll leave us with Krawk Island. Oh dear. Any chance that I could win about 16,000 games to try to make up the deficit?

EDIT: Apparently not. By my calculation, by never stopping, I would need to play for 33 straight days. In a seven day round.

Please help!

If you do the math and add all the team's score together. Divide by 8. It comes up with a 113,269,9.5. That means that if all the players that lost join another team or something. That would make a rough 106,000,0 - 133,269,9 points for each.

Make sense? :D

It does, but, sadly, I don't see any new Meridell supporters coming, as the only place it is close to is Brightvale, who are still in it. Plus the fact that all teams gain the advantage, and it comes up as one really huge problem for Meridell. If we make it to the semis, I will be very happy, and will probably spend the day giving away neopoints to random strangers. As you do.

Again, if last rounds scores indicate anything, it's that you don't need lots of players, you need active, high scoring players.

Anyway, I've been warming up to playing with darigan and am on my way through playing a game with them against every team. So far only kruledor seems to mysteriously screw up my playtyle, but I don't think there's many real differences between teams.

Also, the brightvale keeper struck me as amusing.

I'm thing that these stats are going to be even more weirder with the next round from all the new players to each team. It looks as if the most popular team got beaten rather easily. Of course, it's really hard to tell which team is truely most popular. Hopefully staff tournment aren't this weird.

Plus the winning team with the lowest score - Roo Island.
I can only hope that some of the active Faerieland players join us next round.

Uum... wow? As much as I'm a proud supporter, I really was worried that we'd be knocked out this round. But to not only win but have the most points out of ANY team? Wow.

This could go either way though. I have a feeling the Mystery Island is going to attract A LOT of the people from losing teams, simply because they'll want to further back the winning horse in hopes of getting a prize. That could ensure overall victory, or it could mean that a bunch of unskilled people will end up on our team and actually send in losing scores/mess up the scoring system.

Put together with the fact that I'm leaving for Mexico friday and I'll be gone for 10 days: should be interesting to see how this all turns out...
