Should we vote for Ollie, as per his appearance on the scoreboard scene when you click the Techo's eye? It could be an omen, or his attempt to rally support. Who knows?

I put him as third-placed, simply because I chose completely randomly. If I get any of them anywhere near right, I'll be impressed.
Are they just starting with the same order as the user-based Altador Cup? Because otherwise, if, in Terror Mountain against Darigan Citadel, for example, and Darigan win the user one, but Terror Mountain win in the staff, then what would happen?
Having just typed that, it seems very obvious that they'd alternate for the user and staff tournaments, but not nece-celery.

Super-Goalie Front Update (hereafter SGFU):
It seems round 1 will not see a score of 10. I've worked hard and while putting together a lot of speedy 9 sets, no tenth. Most of the final Yooyus were either Snow or Faerie (AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!) However, the Faerie proved it to me. I shot one off in close proximity to the goal only to see the goalie TELEPORT to the ball! He was in the middle of the goal and then INSTANTANEOUSLY moved to the outside edge of the goal to stop the shot!
The few Fire Yooyus I managed to get were usually with almost no time left on the clock. However, trying to do a pass stuff proves fruitless because the SG strips the ball from my shooter as soon as he gets it. Perhaps, once the tournament is over, the flash game will see an end to the super-goalie so that we can have a High-Scores Table. Look for the next SGFU either with news on beating the SG or at Round 2. I would HATE to have to switch teams, but it may have benefits (Darigan players are slow and perhaps I'd be able to use a faster team to decimate my opponent with plenty of SG time leftover.
On the plus side, a couple more wins submitted.
End of SGFU
EDIT: Check my profile to see my occupation, I'm sure many will like it.

I generally make it to the Super Goalie with about a minute to spare (My best being 1:12, but generally with over a minute left), and am totally stumped as to how to beat him. Recently, I've just spent the minute amusing myself by running around all the players and watch their futile attempts to take the ball from me. It keeps me interested, and keeps my 9-0 win safe. I'm on to 27 wins for Meridell now, and hopefully Meridell have a chance of getting through.
EDIT: I managed to make it to 1:08 with two Mutants and three Faeries, which I am pleased with - although I think you're still winning, Shadow_Twisted, for fastest 9-0.
EDIT 2: I swear that round hated me. Five Faeries and three Mutants! It's just cruel.

But I'm still very happy with my general performance in the Altador Cup so far.

That's what I do too, otherwise I usually end up conceding a couple of goals because the other team is getting awfully fast.

What's the fastest 9-0 time? I want to try and beat it, it'll give me more reason to play

weird, I sucked butt on the practice rounds, but in my first match since the kickoff I got 5-1 against maraqua.
what is this magical 9-0 score that ppl are trying to get, and will it affect my team's rankings?

When you score 9 goals, then the keeper becomes a Super Goalie, and moves a lot faster, and is virtually impossible (potentially completely impossible) to score against. So, nine goals is considered as many as can be scored, and, although it probably won't affect your score much, if goals count, then scoring as many as possible is good.
And, good team choice.

At the moment, 9-0 is a perfect score.
I don't have the quickest 9 set, my record is 1:05 left in play. However, it might be the best for Darigan Citadel. As I said before, the players are slow. Even though the players are slow, however, I wouldn't switch my affiliation save for elimination.
I can't say that too loud, you know. It's a bad word no one wants to here concerning their team.
For those too lazy to look up my profile to see my Occupation:
Professional Yooyuball Player
Should I change the "player" to "guru"?

Super goalie is just too Super... Got to 9-0, blocked opponents keeper slightly with 2 of my players, got a 3rd player to shoot... Super keeper just brushed my blockers aside to save...
If only I can advance my blockers further up to block the keeper fully...

SGFU:
Failed Strategies:
*Steepest angle possible: SG not only blocks the shot at the middle of the goal, but passes it to set up the touch-pass cannon play (The AI passes the ball twice and shoots in a total time of like, a second)
*Passing to other players: SG follows the path of the ball anywhere it goes, even when it's not on HIS/HER side!
*Mutant: These annoying yooyus would seem like the perfect weapons for SG, considering their various flight patterns, but apparently SG is psychic and knows EXACTLY where these guys are going.
*Fire: This fast, powerful little guy should be able to outdraw SG, right? WRONG! Each SG comes equipped with a fire extinguisher, and if you act now, we'll include the book "The Guide to Unlocking Your Psychic Potential," a $2000 value, absolutely FREE!*
End of SGFU
I'm ready to raise a white flag and just surrender trying to beat SG.
*Unfortunately, we are sold out of Super Goalies. However, have I told you about our Mutant or Faerie Yooyus? Each one comes with a complimentary beating stick so you can finally give those pesky Yooyus what they have coming.`
`Unfortunately, we are sold out of Mutant AND Faerie Yooyus.

so do we know how teams advance yet? total wins? if so virtu pets is in trouble

Many people think that my theory is the most accurate in calculating final results. Apparently, I have skills playing the game as well as figuring out how it works.
Say I'm the only Darigan Supporter and I send 3 scores: 9, 7, 8
9+7+8=24 24/3=8 8 would be Darigan's final
Terror Mountain sends 6 scores: 4, 9, 8, 3, 7, 5
4+9+8+3+7+5=36 36/6=6 6 would be Terror Mountain's final
End result: Darigan 8 Terror Mountain 6
Darigan wins!
This way seems logical, but there's also the loss record. All I can say is that I have 2 ideas:
1. Losses count towards your opponent's total. (Example: Lose 8 to 9, the 8 would be added to your opponent's score) NOT LIKELY.
2. Losses count against your team as such (8-9, the 9 is factored into the other losses to give what will be deducted from the totals above.
3. I know I said 2, but I thought they might do both.

Surely 1 and 2 work out ultimately the same. I agree with your initial statement, but the sole difference between adding 8 to one side, or taking 8 off the other is just an increase or decrease in the total score.
But yes, I think they may do one of 1 or 2, along with the previously mentioned method.
Although the chances are that they'll also not tell us what happens - they'll just say who got knocked out, and who went through.
