As for the top gamers thing, staff members don't use their staff accounts for actual playing of the site. If they do play, they have separate accounts (ones they can't cheat from! ). So any top gamer stuff is more likely than not faked.

I am not sure how it is counting, that is the thing. It appears that it doesn't so much matter the team you are on (at least right now with the apparent "glitch" of me being "on" Maraqua after scoring for Faerieland dozens of wins. I think it really just tracks personal goals. Especially if you can switch teams if you happen to lose round one. But I use the link just in case it does count per team, as I have not much of a preference one way or the other, except to be on the same team I scored for yesterday as I am today (apparently too much to ask TNT). Beyond that, I also just want to make sure my "scores" are consistent. My reasoning is merely why start playing for Maraqua now, when I have scored in so many games with Faerieland already. Then I come back to the "it probably doesn't matter, the glitch is kind of telling in that way" but I have no idea really, so I can't say for sure what is going on here, since if we can all then be in the finals eventually by changing teams, seems like no one can lose that bad. But that is a good thing for me, especially since no Neopoints are rewarded for playing this Cup thing.

Yeah, I don't get it. They "fixed" the glitch to at least make the team I am on reflect who it counts score for, BUT if I play on another team, it still counts toward those same scores. So, it says I am on Maraqua, but I just got my first 9-0 win with Faerieland (sorry Mystery Island). Heh. But why it counts for Maraqua is beyond my glitch comprehension at this point.

I'm not even going to pretend to try and consider the merest possibility of beginning to understand this. I'll just stick with my Meridell, of unknown popularity. It would be nice if they showed somewhere how many people were in each team, so you could see which was the most popular. I'd like to see how many people I'm playing, and how over- or underpopulated we are compared to others.

But I suppose with the switching after rounds where you get knocked out, that would be hard to do.

To me this seems like a "war" in disguise. "Worlds competing" but in this case it only matters who you join in the finals?

Has anyone accidentally been switched or glitched between two teams currently playing against one another? What if I score for Faerieland, will Maraqua win? What if Maraqua loses? Will that put Faerieland out? Argh!

I still don't get it, since if personal goals are also kept track of but hidden until the end, and you won a lot both games on whichever teams you were on and personal goals, then your "team" lost in the finals but your scores were overall higher, what the heck is that supposed to mean? I don't get this. Good thing it is actually just fun anyway, else I would be more upset at TNT, especially after bothering to advertise and publicize, before game-testing and glitch-fixing!

I think what's happening is that you can probably end up winning three 'types' of prize:
- For being on the winning team (luck, and very unfair should you not actually play a game)
- For winning lots of games, despite being on the losing team once or more (they should do one like this, so all the prizes in the Altador Cup aren't random)
- For guessing correctly in the Staff Tournament (mainly luck, although working out which staff members may be better than others would constitute skill, although ultimately it'll be luck)

And don't say anything about this being a 'war in disguise'! You'll make the codestone prices go up again! You know what people are like! They'll be rumours now:

Possibly. I think they define a cheating program as one that plays the game when you are not there. I don't think they mind you sitting there, manually pressing refresh, but they might be a bit dubious about the refresher.

Almost got 10 goals just now, but I do find the clock must run for "nothing" sometimes since there were 5 seconds left and the fastest I ever scored a goal (or noticed) was within 4 seconds, so I figured I had a chance. But no, the whistle blew before those 5 seconds on the clock could be used. Sigh. What wasted talent.

The celebrations and retrieving the ball take up time (about five or six seconds, I think). If you look at the clock after you score a goal, and when the game restarts, you've lost a few seconds. So, scoring in the last 5 seconds will end the game.

And, remember you'd have to face the 'super goalie' at 9, making 10 virtually impossible. Although those with more talent than me (meaning most) could probably discover a strategy. Mine at the moment is 'don't do it', and it works for me!

Yes, I wonder how they feel about someone's arms so tired and inflamed they cannot finish fixing a Water Plant or something? I made sure to observe and manually vary my refreshing when I finally had to use this method. I don't know where they draw the line, but so long as I am there to monitor and also make changes, that is not completely automatic really.

Geez that sucks. Who was frozen? I would think as long as you use it intelligently and not casually, as a last resort and don't overabuse it ... was it plot related? That would be unfortunate. I hope TNT is lenient.
