FAERIELAND vs. MYSTERY ISLAND!

This is going to be so interesting! Both are really popular teams, but it just depends on how many people from both actually play - and are halfway decent at it!

Has anyone else's scores reset themselves? I'm still on the TM team, but my practice round scores are all gone.

Two Things:

1: Darigan Citadel vs. Terror Mountain Played 3X 9-0, 9-0, 7-1

2: Am I the only one who can't get the Souvenir shop to restock?!?!?! Honestly, I decide to start taking requests to try and get stuff for people at cost and now I can't get ANYTHING TO APPEAR IN THE SHOP!!!!!

Oooh-- vs. Mystery Island. =D

I played once, and scored 8-0 in Faerieland's favour, but, Ziggy's right. Faerieland and Mystery Island are both popular worlds, I wonder who's gonna win.

I think it's just being really glitchy now. For the people speaking all i'm getting is "Nan" and when i try to submit score all i get is..."Undefined" So just buggy right now.

Things are working fine for me. I'd advise playing a game, submitting the results, then closing out the game and opening it up again. I played twice, won twice.... first win showed up in my scores, not the second. So that is still a problem that could be gotten around since others have mentioned doing that before.

The shops have been stocking sporadically all night. It seems to go for an hour or more without a restock. I've managed to get about 10 items, but none of them are for my Altador team! :(

Amazingly, I managed a 2-0 win for Altador vs. Krawk Island. Yay me! Is there a limit to how many time per day you can play?

To be honest, I thought The Neopets Team would put the most popular teams against less popular teams. I mean, c'mon, how cool would a Faerieland/Darigan final be? It'd almost be . . . war-like =).

In any event, I have now beaten Mystery Island three times, with varying scores on each. I've got to point out I like the little "announcer" touch at the beginning and end of each game, although the Garfield movie poster on the loading screen (the screen is amazing though) is a little annoying. Also, at the top of the Altador Cup banner, they've switched the "Play" and "Standings" button and added a little "Sponsored by Garfield - A Tale of Two Kitties" sign as well. It's okay.

Now, let's get playin'!

This is what I've been doing, and it's working for me so far. I still lost my previous wins, though, but maybe that was intentional....

Yay, it finally started! At first I thought that tyrannia might be a little tougher than jellyword was, but then i realised i was just nervous because it's actual game time. Do the scores only count when you send them? Who in their right mind would send a losing score if that were the case?

Just to further elaborate, there are some interesting match-ups here! The only one that I think is a foregone conclusion (sorry guys!) is Haunted Woods vs. Kreludor, going only on the support I've seen. I'm wandering if The Neopets Team configured the pairings to the amount of people who signed up for each team!

I am also really interested to see what happens with Terror Mountain vs. Darigan Citadel. I know that a lot of people think Darigan's a for-sure bet, but I've seen a surprising number of Terror Mountain supporters.

It also appears as if the amount of points you score doesn't matter, but rather if you win or lose. I'm just scoring a couple of points and then playing defensively, so I hope it doesn't come back to bite me. However, it brings up the point as to whether anyone is going to send in a score that is a loss. Something to wander about, for sure.

I've also noticed the amount of wins I got during the practice rounds seem to have vanished, or are just not being displayed. Weird.

Eep, I promise to stop rambling, but I just noticed something - I must have been playing a practice round as the news went up, and when I submitted my score it counted against Mystery Island, not the Jelly World opponent I was actually playing. I hope I don't get in trouble for this accidental bug o_0

This will be interesting . . .

To answer what you said before about your practice round scores are gone..... I think everyone's are. They are just practice records and therefore don't matter in official competition. Probably would be nice to still have that there on the page but I'd imagine that after Round 1, those scores will be wiped and then you start your Round 2 record.

Probably going to talley up all the records of every player and whichever team has the most wins will advance. I guess in this sense, the more popular teams have a slight advantage, but they'd have to play well just the same.

EDIT: Another interesting note, I was defeating Terror Mountain (I'm Darigan obviously) and the score was 9-1. There was like 38 seconds left and suddenly their goalie became an ace goldtending. LOL Blocked every single shot against me. Has anybody broke 10 points yet?

Hmm, I thought this might be fun for me to do. Anyone else can follow suit if they so wish!

Ziggy's Official Altador Cup Predictions - Round One

Altador vs Krawk Island
This one's a tough call. I think Altador has a lot of support with being featured in the recent plot, but I think those supporting Krawk Island are more willing to actually get out there and play the game! So for that reason, I am picking Krawk Island.

Kiko Lake vs Brightvale
I think this one's a wildcard. I've not seen much support for either of these teams, and I think they're both huge underdogs to win the tournament. However, I think merely because it is more well-known (by a little bit), the winner will be Brightvale.

Darigan Citadel vs Terror Mountain
This is easily one of the most interesting match-ups. I seriously thought this would be one of the final matches to be played, and to see either one of these teams with so much support get knocked out would be mindblowing. On one hand, you have the Terror Mountain, who is something of the underdog in this situation. A lot of the dedicated players did choose Darigan, but so did a lot of younger kids who thought they looked cool. Unfortunately, I just don't think Terror Mountain has it in them to win, but I hope so! However, I think the winner will be the Darigan Citadel.

Mystery Island vs Faerieland
Another really tough match to call. I think Faerieland probably edges out Mystery Island in the number of people signed up for them, but I don't know how many people supporting Faerieland are actually going to get out there and play. Now, I am supporting Faerieland so I hope we pull it through but I just don't know. I've seen a lot of support for Mystery Island on various Neopets forums, but not on the actual site, so I'm going to go with Faerieland, though I can easily see Mystery Island winning this one.

Haunted Woods vs Kreludor
In my opinion, this is the only foregone conclusion. I hate to say it, but there just hasn't been much support for Kreludor at all, on PPT or otherwise. Haunted Woods may be a real sleeper hit this tournament, although I don't think they'll make it past the semi-finals. Still, I think the Haunted Woods takes this one easy.

Virtupets vs Lost Desert
Going solely on the amount of support I've seen, I think the Lost Desert is a good bet here. There are, of course, a number of completely dedicated Virtupets fans, but I just don't think they can pull it out here. Still, I don't think the Lost Desert is that popular, but is moreso than everyone's favorite space station orbiting Neopia. Therefore, I pick the Lost Desert.

Maraqua vs Meridell
Another interesting match-up. I've seen a lot of people waving Maraquan support banners, although I'm not convinced that many people are actually going to go out and play that much. Still, I've seen a select few people supporting Meridell who I think will fight valiantly, but I don't think it's going to be enough. I really, really hope Meridell pulls this one out, but I don't think it's going to happen. I've got to go with Maraqua on this one.

Roo Island vs Tyrannia
Ahh, Roo Island. They are the true underdogs of this competition, yet I can strangely see them going somewhat far. It's all dependent on how many people actually play for Roo Island and not just use the support banners because 'they look cool'. Tyrannia isn't that popular of a land in Neopia, at least not from what I've read. However, more Neopians know about it than Roo Island, which is just a mini-world. Still, due to the amount of support I've seen for it, I'm picking Roo Island.

And those are Ziggy's Official Altador Cup Predictions for Round One. Let's see how good I picked them in a couple of days! I am still on the edge of my seat seeing who is going to win Mystery Island vs. Faerieland and Darigan Citadel vs. Terror Mountain, which I thought (sans Krawk Island) would be in the finals.

Happy playing!

I absolutely suck! my practice games I lose 6-0, and 3 of those points are from when I accidentally throw the yooyou into my own goal...

I think the best way for me to support Mystery Island is to sit in the sideline and give the other team the evil eye.
