I totally suck at this. I thought I had it nailed when I finally won 4-1...only to find that it was a complete fluke.
Y'all who are doing really well - are you good at action games anyway or am I completely faffing something up? I have more issues with actually getting it in the net than getting possession
A guide from you bright sparks would be great for those of who are...incompetent

My team: Mystery Island
vs Altador: I win 8-0
vs Brightvale: I win 7-0
vs Darigan: I win 9-1 ( HYPER-UBER-RAGE goalkeeper after 9th goal, scored in the last second... =S )
vs Faerieland: I win 5-0
vs Haunted Woods: I win 7-0
vs Kiko Lake: I win 7-0
vs Krawk Island: I win 6-0
vs Kreludor: I win 8-1
vs Lost Desert: I win 7-1
vs Maraqua: I win 6-1
vs Meridell: I win 7-2
vs Roo Island: I win 9-0 (after 9th goal, it was impossible to score again...)
vs Terror Mountain: I win 4-0
vs Tyrannia: I win 7-1
vs Virtupets: I win 6-0
I thinks that all teams have a better IA than Jelly world team.

Me! Yeah, becasue only clever people can work out how to cheat and not get caught.
Hehe.
Out of interest how do you go against diferent teams Regelus? Also, scoring with the fearie ball is the same as scoring with the mutant one only it is slower and it swerves more.

I was about to start practicing when i had the ingenious idea of putting the banner in my lookup. What happened next was that i somehow managed to accidentally delete my lookup. Then raced here and there because i had removed the website that i got it from, from my favourites a few weeks back, and couldn't remember the name. So it took me 2 hours to finally get back the original lookup after endless searching, and put everything together. and now i'm too tired to practice

It's quite easy. Just go head on against the keeper, and when you get to just outside the box, shoot directly at him. The Faerie will swerve around him. The positioning is important.

Okay I've finally worked out something that does work almost every time. It's in someone's pet page already and the link's been posted. Thanks for that.
In the start screen when the ball is being revealed, follow the left diagonal line upwards until your mouse turns into a hand. Then move it towards the right, even though you're still on the starting screen. This will mean that as soon as the game screen shows, you're already selected and moving. The fact you're already moving then gives you the chance to move your mouse up slightly so you swerve round the defenders towards the time corner of the goal, then diagonal shot into the goal.
That works for around 6 goals for me.
Is anyone finding they have problems letting go of the ball when it's ice or mutant?

You want to what the hardest part of this game is, choosing a team. There just isn't one that I feel all patriotic about. The quiz shoved me into Krawk Island.
I thought maybe Brightvale seeing as my house is there, but...but... now they turn out to be the drop outs *sigh*

happytin: If you have problems releasing the ball, keep in mind that your mouse cursor needs to be inside the pitch boundaries to do so (e.g. in FRONT of the goalmouth).

That's exactly what I always do with those balls... It's still not 100% fool proof cause you indeed need a good positioning and good timing, but it sure works better than what I did before: just randomly shooting it in the opponent's direction

Believe me, it gets a lot easier. I was consistantly losing at least 6-0, but once you get the hang of it, you gradually learn to play it - especially once you understand the basic controls - the player switching confused me initially, until I got used to it.
Unless you're supporting someone other than Meridell, in which case you'll never do it, and you should give up.

Interesting... I tried a match against some of the other teams, but seem all more or less the same to me. Darigan hasn't got much speed though

so it's the hardest one for me. I haven't tried all the teams, though.

Ugh, I give up - I'm just going to be a cheerleader for a side...I just can't figure which yet
We can't drop out of the tournament can we?
