Maybe if you add up ALL the star numbers...
I'll be off trying that.

EDIT: Wait, If it were random/different for everybody, why not make each of everybody's spells different?

-178 means subtrack 178
5 -135 would mean adding 5 then tacking away 135
and so on...

So if, indeed, the highest number room we have to try is 21x21 that gives us 36 rooms (using the multiples of 3) we have to search multiply that by the 31 books in each room. That's 1116 books.
I really wish I could tab. My hand really hurts from all this clicking. Can ANYONE please tell me where (position in room) their book was. Which bookshelf

I think you mean 49x31.

Yes, I get that, but then you'd end up with -130 as your sum. So are you casting the spell 130?

Something I'm finding helpful is using the Avant browser- it allows you to open all links in a given page (in seperate tabs). I haven't found my spellbook yet but this is a lot easier than clicking one by one.
How do you use that feature? I have the avant browser but I can't do that.[/quote]

What's that number from? As far as I know, all books have been found no higher than 21x21

Kasia yip If I get -130 I cast 130

Well that guy said 21by21 max, and taking only multiple of 3 rooms, he said 36 rooms... Which was wrong. 7by7 rooms to check.
---
Also, there are 50k spells... and the max you'll ever get by adding co-ords like that is about 1800 (Not sure)... So um... Either you add all the numbers, or something's wrong.

Kasia, that's a pure mathematical equation there. A 7 by 7 square (21/3=7), where each room has 31 books. Of course, this doesn't count the rooms at 0, so it should probably 8 by 8 times 31. That gives a grand total of 1,984 books to read. *hits head against the wall*
In any case, this is why the room should be listed in co-ordinate format (ie, 3,9 ) instead of 9X9. Doubt that'll change at this late stage, but I feel I should contribute. (Not finding the book irks me to no end. Surely there is some logic behind it!)

Just right click on the page, it's in the list of options.
