Should go for weapons before the rumours of war start to spread again? Then again, I have only one mill to invest. There is not many options of good weapons on such price range.

In your case, no, 10 strength and defence points won't make a difference. Even 50 won't make a difference. The next boost is at 200, and between 125 and 200 is the largest jump in the damage multiplier. Look here to see the boosts, and read my post about how strength boosts work on page 12. As for investing... no, you can't get much for 1 mil. Scuzzys Comb and the new Ice Club are decent weapons, if you just want to pick up a couple of attackers. Prices on everything will rise when war rumors start, but there won't be a war for some time.

And neobeth, no, there's no real rule of thumb. It's basically what you can afford. If you play 2-player, you can see what other people around your level own and choose your own weapons accordingly, but in 1-player it's just the most damage you can manage for your NP.

Due to loss of my main BD pet, and my Ring of the Lost my new BD stats are:

Level : 10

Health : 109 / 109
Strength : EXCELLENT (42)
Defence : GREAT (21)

Patched Magic Hat
Downsize!
Scarab Ring
Purple Sticky Hand
Scuzzys Comb
Honey Potion

I have 5million to spend. Should I buy a new RotL? Is there a better alternative?

I will be training the pet constantly, so no advice please about having to raise level/strength/defence/HP

kcharles, you should have one attacker that does some more icons. Try a stone club (9 solid icons); you can get one for less than 80k on the wiz now. But training, more than anything else, is what you should be doing. No matter how good your weapons are, if you don't train you won't make it very far in Defenders of Neopia or any wars.

Arogance, 5 mil, huh? RotL is considered a good investment, because (as you know) it blocks all dark regardless of defence boost and there are only a limited number of them out there. I do think a 100% freezer (like H4000 Helmet) would be more important, but if you liked your RotL and you want something you can sell for more NP down the road, sure, pick up another one. If you just want a fairly powerful weapon, a Wand of Reality or Bow of Destiny would work, and would leave you some NP for a black frost cannon or something. Also, pick up a greater healing scroll. At your current hp, it's great, and Neo recently changed the description to reflect the fact that it is NOT fragile. Great healer (50 hit points) for just 30k.

I've just bought a new RotL for 4.25million :)
I'll look into getting a Black Frost Cannon and a Greater Healing Scroll next.

Thanks Cranberry

Ohhh, lab rat, I see. Your level is very low (2); if you ever want to train anything at the training school, you'll have to raise it to 153, eep. Then it'll cost you 7 codestones (at about 4.5k each) and take 18 hours per point. I'm betting you don't want to do that, so you'll have to work with what you have. Luckily, high HP and high strength are really all you need for one-player (defence helps, but you really only NEED it in two-player). And when you get three more strength points, you'll have the 125 strength boost, which is good.

So, your weapons. I need to know how much you are willing to spend. If you just want to beat the Meerca bros, I can give you a list of one-use items and a strategy. If you actually want to be a BDer and fight in wars and stuff, I need a budget and then I can suggest some real weapons.

As for abilities, you NEED burrow and sink. I believe this involves raising your level to 30. I repeat, though, you NEED them. Once you have them, if your level goes down again due to the ray, you won't lose them, so don't worry. You should also have one of the following: regeneration, restore or healing vapour. And get drain life as well.

If it helps, its just taken me a week of codestone training to reach lvl30, making sure not to use the lab on him, just in case it dropped the level.
I'm aiming for lvl120, so I can train my stats back up to a decent level again

Yurble
lv 21
attack 40
defense 38
endurance 38
speed 28

what do you think i should buy in upgrade for my scarab ring and leaf shield?

Wed May 31, 2006 3:41 am

It all depends on your budget. If you want buyable items (under 100k each), any of these are good:

Stone Club
Ice Club
Enchanted Wooden Bow
Greater Healing Scroll
Snowglobe Staff (only in 1-player; doesn't freeze often enough for 2)
Leaf Shield (only if you train defence, which you do; blocks earth, water, phys)
Patched Magic Hat (only if you train defence; blocks light, earth, phys)
Tooth of Terask (again, if you train defence; blocks dark and attacks)
Staff of Impenetrable Gloom (and again with the defence; blocks physical and attacks)
Scarab Ring is still good at your level because it defends common icon types.
And of course, the old Purple Sticky Hand for stealing in 1-player.
And some kind of snowball or muffin. Sticky snowball is okay. Fire muffin is better, but more expensive.

And everyone should save up for a Honey Potion, the only decent bomb for intermediate battlers (stats in the 35-125 boosts). I still use mine even though I'm nearing the 250 boosts and should have upgraded to ghostkerbomb already (I plan to soonish).

If you want some more expensive options, let me know.
