Increased Random Events?

NOT FAIR!
how come some people have nice RE's and all i get is this:

Maybe they increased the odds slightly? Or maybe we're all just a bit more active because of the plot?

Because I got a useless one from Nigel, then two pages later found a petpet lab piece. O.o';

I ran into a slew of random events last night: I was getting one for roughly every fifth pageview. o_O

None of them were good, though. I think I got the badge one twice.
