not a day i said i had as of that day had that amount. it took me 2 years to get that much. two years of working my fanny off and my daughters fanny off
Edit:
i dont mean to come off nasty its just frustrating is all. im a sub. teacher and im usualy at work. or im tutoring students. or helping home based kids with school work. and it just galls me that there are others out there who take what they learn and use it for self gain.

Isn't that what the majority of educated people do? Learn lots of stuff so they can get well paying jobs? Anyway, I know you didn't say 350k/day, but that's what 250 million divided over 2 years averages to.

let me enlighten you on what i mean.... i love to teach but with that comes a responsabitlity to make sure that those i teach KNOW that it is wrong to take what they learn and use it for self gain if it HARMS others. I tell my students that if what they want out of life can be obtained with out harming others then go for it. but be wise about it. dont be greedy and dont purposely set out to hurt others.
Edit:
its been interesting but gotta go. have to work for about 4 hours so will check on posts later.
thank you for the debate but gotta run. have some young minds to mold.

After reading about this yesterday, I was thinking about the security issue. Would it be so hard to issue a Serial Number (for lack of a better term) with each account and/or pet created? This would be emailed to you - it would be up to you to protect this information in case your account was ever broken into. It would ONLY be used as a way to verify ownership of an account or pet (not sure if that one would work as pets are swapped alot). So, you get this SN emailed when you create the account, print it out and tape it to the underside of a bureau drawer or someplace safe and delete the email. I guess your house could burn down but hey, ya gotta start somewhere...
That wouldnt work if they do what they did here and hack into the email account attached to the neopets account.
Maybe they could introduce a 'security question' option where you have to give your mothers aunts pet's name etc. T

It wouldn't work if you left the email with your SN in your email account, silly. You have to print it out or otherwise save it AWAY from your email.
Ollie, I really hope you aren't teaching English.
I have a bit of knowledge about TNT's freezing practices. If you were indeed making an average of 350,000np per day, then you're going to have to prove to them exactly how you did that honestly without violating their terms and conditions. You obviously don't spend 12 or more hours a day playing Neopets, am I correct?

I know, but how many people would lose that bit of paper?
How would you find the number again? I know what i'm like, it'd be lost within a few weeks and i'd never remember it
Edit: I didnt think of saving it somewhere else, say a word document. But there is still risk with that. Though i suppose there is a risk with everything and TNT do the best they can.
What we really need is for the silly people who think hacking is fun to stop.

That's what I do. I have my passwords in several text documents and I name them things like "shoppinglist", "recipes", "pizza_toppings", whatever. There's not much chance if someone even saw/got into your computer, they'd know where to look unless you opened the file right in front of them.

I personally either print mine out on a sheet and put it in my folder of "important stuff" or put them on index cards I hide in my desk

Writing passwords and such on a slip of paper or an index card and taping them under your keyboard or even on the inside of your computer's tower is a good way to hide info. >>; Places people wouldn't normally think about looking would work.

That would probably depend on how secure you wanted to be and where you were doing it at. If you're at work or school, leaving your passwords laying about is probably not a great idea. At home it's not such a big deal, but if it's a home computer you might as well save them to a file on your computer. As to the SN idea, my account is 74 months old now. I'm not sure how much stuff I still have from that long ago, but I am pretty sure a number would have vanished by now:P Going back to the original post, it sounds like your neopets acct wasn't hacked, but your email. It really sucks that your stuff was swiped, but unless you're really generous with your email address, you should have a general idea of who took it since it has to be someone that knows your email AND neopets ID.

TNT keeps a record of all neomails sent to and from an account. So they WOULD see arogance's neomail offering NP for his pet back, and probably freeze him again, too.
Arogance, the pet and your account both have the same name, which helps a lot. Try asking the admin what you can do to get your pet back -- see if there's any way you can prove you created it and that it was stolen when your account was taken.

Nope. You can type an email into neopets.com's password retrieval box, and every account belonging to that email will be sent to that email address, along with their password.
That, and if you still have password retrieval/confirmation emails from neopets in your inbox.. bad,bad..

I hope you get your Shoyru -- now a Lenny -- back, Arogance. I myself am very attatched to my pets and would be devestated if I lost them -- and especially the new owner changed them or their petpet in any way.
I sent in a request to the Editorial that PIN preferences are added to abandoning pets. I'm going to start a petition if it doesn't appear in the NT next week. I hope this helps at least a little, not just to you, but to others who are hacked and risk losing their pets.
Do you have a spare account that we could send donations to?
Sun May 21, 2006 1:39 am
There already is a PIN preference for abandoning pets. The problem is that someone got Arogance's PIN (if a scammer/hacker can get into someone's e-mail, they can get anything), so he was able to do anything he wanted in the account.
