Here's a thought. Equip your pet with the astronomy club and try the water plant again. Or, un-equip the astronomy club and try again. I don't remember what pet I used when I spent all those unfruitful hours, and what pet got it, but there's a good chance I switched.

(All my other plot things are in my SDB.)

What could the puzzle possibly be that so many people accidently stumble on the correct solution right away, and for others it takes ages? That should be a clue in itself. So far, the only clue.

With the water plant, I just tinkered around and flooded the place three times before I finally got it right. I noticed that you don't have to the buckets full of water either. All my plot items were stored in my SDB.

For those still having trouble with the water plant hopefully it works out for you and good luck. :)

This is getting ridiculous. I had the plant fixed in 20 mintues, with not so much as a flood to hinder me. I don't understand why so many intelligent, experienced PPT members haven't fixed the water plant yet. I want to say it's a browser-related error, or a mistake on TNT's part, but surely the former would have been figured out, and the latter fixed, by now?

I'm sending off a question to the editorial concerning this, but I really hope you guys can solve it sooner than later.

Officer 1BD1: thanks appreciate you posting that :)

Nope, good try but I don't believe you - the links are not of a certain set way of setting the valves and levers, but rather of making one valve/lever turn/flip, from what I have found. Therefore, depending on the combination of valves and levers that you start with, you are going to end up with all the valves closed and the levers up at some point, resulting in a flooded Altador

Then why is it:
1. the ONLY time I flood altador is when the positions are: ++ | ++U | UUU
2. using altrus' list I flooded Altador at three different points in the list (on three separate tries)
3. Please note my starting position was the SAME for each try of altrus' list
(starting xx | xxU | UDU )
If the sequence remained the same for ALL time periods then I would get the same results each time for altrus' list of 255 combinations (not three different results)

What do you think we have been doing for last 4 days?

It is possible the "combinations" are assigned by IP I suppose?
Doubt it as I'm in Australia :P

Despite being told there is no glitch, I am in disbelief I can be so unlucky. I have plenty of other things to waste my time on; this is getting boring.

It's likely that those that got it by "just trying someone else's combination" (even left to right) did several other things beforehand that led up to it, that they did not notice at that point, didn't think to make a connection. Well I have been staring at water go from here to there for days now, I feel like I should get my Plumber's Club Badge already. But it still doesn't help me solve anything, if I have no idea what the aim is.

It is against all odds there should be anyone left doing this, including myself. If anything, there should be a finite number of clicks programmed in before one just "magically" gets it, seemingly like others have. It should not be something to put someone out of a plot if they have made the effort, and advance others through no effort or level of skill required.

Fully agree!

Have tried but no luck so far :(

Question: Did/does anyone have the SAME starting sequence that I have:

xx | xxU | UDU

and if you do, what was your "correct" sequence?

edit:
Please note I can also get all water in:
Room 1 and none in 2 + 3
Room 2 and none in 1 + 3
Room 3 and none in 1 + 2

I got it in five minutes. All I did was try to turn all the pipes to water flowing (same with the canister thingies in the right room). In the far left, only the top pipe flowed, and then ta da.

For the random clicking thing, I meant it as opposed to using the sequence of Altrus'. Makes much less sense. Therefore: Faster in Neopet's tougher puzzles. Yay!

:roflol: We did that for the first 3 days and also in-between times of trying altrus' list

Dark Faerie

Thu May 18, 2006 5:06 am

Has anyone read the news yet? In the editorial is this quote, under a picture of the Darkest Faeirie:

"Compare me to Jennumara?!
You and she will soon share the same horrible fate when I have my way.
Now to just escape this statue in Faerieland."

I can't remember now where it said that Fyora put the Darkest Faeirie somewhere close where she could keep an eye on her, but all we've known is that she's in Maraqua. Here she says she's in Faerieland.

The statue is still in Maraqua, and the other statue is in the Hall of Heros in Altador. I don't think you could call that Faerieland just because the transporter is there.

it was thought that they were mentioning the darkest faerie ps2 game, where fyora teleports the statue to faeryland (just telling what ive read, never played the game)

I don't have the game either. I seem to remember that they have said that that game takes place in the past. If it's in the past, why is the statue in Maraqua and not Faerieland then? Maybe at the end of this plot the Maraquan statue gets moved.

Now that would be massively cool.
i think i would forgive them for all the time they kept me waiting for clues
(and also the ponch club incident *shivers just with the tought*)

As guilty as it makes me sound, I got the solution to the water plant after only one flooding and within around 5 minutes.

Though, since somone in thread 59 mentioned that the podium that the amulet is the same as the podiums for the statues in the hall of heros, I'd like to propose a crazy theory. Is it at all possible that there is (or was) a thirteenth hero of altador? Firstly, of course, there is the podium, though I suppose that could have just been laziness on neopets part. However, providing for the 4 pages that each hero gets in the archives book, there are still two pages unaccounted for (that is, we have two extra) While this isn't enough for an extra hero by itself, it makes me think that we might have one or more extra steps even after we get the hunter constellation.

Just my musings.

I just wish there was some way I could help those who are already struggling, but the only way I can see that happening is them giving us their password, and that would not be good for the obvious reasons - you'd need to trust the person who was going into your account.

So, it looks like I can only give moral support.

You can do it! Yay! Wooooooo!

Thu May 18, 2006 6:34 am

I thought the last 2 pages were going to be a sort of conclusion of the story with the 12 heroes founding Altador, or something...

anjuna wrote:Heh, I was just thinking that too. I believe Wind and claricerose might also be left. Unfortunately I have taken to a "memorial" text log for us already.

Actually I got it right two days ago

I was just happy to have not flooded the dang place, I toggled randomly and finally got it after about an hr, just presevere and have better luck, go and toggle someting in one room then go to another and another it seems to sometimes work better that way

Thu May 18, 2006 7:31 am

anjuna and the others who have not gotten it...

I really wish there was more I could do to help you guys. When I got it, I didn't feel like it was dumb luck at the time, I thought I was being logical and following my instincts about what seemed to make sense to me. I also DID pay attention to what I did. I will post it one more time in case it may help any of you.

I entered the first room, the center room.
My controls started out like this in that room: +xD There was water in the right tank and nowhere else.
I then clicked the far right lever/switch once.
I did NOT click the wheel valves at all.
After my one click, the controls were in the following position: +xU The water moved from the right tank to the left and there was no water in the chutes.
I then went into the room on the right.
The controls in my right room started out as follows: UUD There was no water anywhere in this room.
I then clicked all of the levers once in the following order: right, middle left
This put the controls in the following position: DDU The tank and the top left chute filled with water.
At this time the page loaded telling me it was fixed.

My final control positions were ++ +xU DDU

I never went into the left room at all until after I had fixed it, at which point I entered all the rooms to double check the final working positions so that I could post the info in case it might help someone else.

It took me less than a minute and I only clicked on four of the eight controls and went into two of the three rooms.

I didn't check the time, but it was between 11pm and 2am EST.

That was what I did to the best of my recollection.

My instincts told me not to touch the wheel valves until I had tried all of the lever/switches because with the switches you can only flip them up or down, only two positions. If you click the wheel and it moves, you have no way of knowing if it is going around and around or forward and back so I was afraid if I started clicking them, I would lose track of where they started out. That was my "logic" at the time, anyway.
