believe me, i tried a number starting with 7 and a lot of zeros. i entered the next room and the adress was: 70000...001, walked 2 back and the adress was 699.....99
this must mean that theres actually infinite rooms
(to see the actual nr try the 55/6 altador split)

I'm not entirely sure it would be easier to code an infinite number of rooms - surely that would be harder? But I'm not a computer programmer, so I'm in no position to comment - anyone out there who knows more than me. So basically, anybody out there?

And I disagree with the Lenny Plushies comment too. For one thing, you can't get back to the plushie cupboard (can't you? I haven't managed to), and also, why else would they open it back up if not to put something in it.

OK, I think I may have to concede the fact that it is infinate, due to the fact that you guys are right. I'm sorry, I don't think very much. *sits in corner and cries*.

All better now. :)

I was really starting to miss the Tomb from LDP and this infinite archive is just the ticket. I hope we have to carry books one at a time through a complex series of random rooms and search bookshelves for their proper place. /end sarcasm

I hope they release the next clue today so we don't have to hear endless theories on the archives. Seems to me there really isn't anything there just yet to speculate on...unless you want to make up wild theories!

I am a programmer and it is neither hard to make a specific room contain the solution nor to make it infinite. Making it infinite is actually slightly easier because all the programmer has to do is just allow it to go on forever by not setting a limit. By making it finite, the programmer has to add something such that, if it goes beyond a certain number, it does a certain action to prevent further advancement.

Plus putting it at 7000..000 and going back and forth proves nothing.. There could be a finite number of rooms but if one were to go beyond the real wall the programmer could easily throw in a borderless repeat loop AFTER the wall.

I went through the archives trying to map the URL's (so I could just jump to a specific room later), and I went past room 129 without an end in sight, so I really think it's infinite. I hope we'll get some clue as to where to go...

For those stuck on the water plant, since we're pretty sure it's random, has anyone tried placing a heavy object on F5 to see if eventually the confetti screen pops up? I doubt it will work, but at least you can walk away from the computer and do something else. I can sympathize to some degree; that Vaeolus took me hours (I didn't realize I had to leave and come back to reset it; I also had trouble with bad page loads). But if I'd been working for days, I think I would have given up... Or sent about a hundred nastigrams to TNT and gotten myself frozen. Good luck.

Does anyone have the full list of italicized words from the archivist? Maybe it's a code as to what room in the archive to go to... I kind of doubt it, but it'd be nice to see the list and play around with it. It beats wandering the maze (I like riddles and word puzzles).

altador medalion

yeah for the first ten min i thought i was just wishful thinking but then i thought why would the archivist go to sooo much trouble to hush things down a bit and then point out the archives room .... who knows huh

Mon May 15, 2006 3:35 pm

the only thing that could happen is the maraquan statue being teleported to altador, because TNT told us that the whole plot is in altador. but in fact i think they are really the same, both the statues and the necklaces

Looking for a premium referal

altador : the amulet

Thats what i thought...especially since the statue in the hero room is already there. I was just wondering on the odds of the last part of the next quest is to put the amulet on the statue of the one faerie instead of on the protector???? who know what they have lined up though... I just wish they would hurry up and let us start it already...lol...im getting anxious....LOL

Since people are still probably stuck on the water plant (as several were stuck days after the Valeous was released), I'm going to post this theory. It's not about end positions so much as how I got there. You see, I only changed 3 things from the initial position (that I didn't change back), so I don't know if that's the minimum/maximum of moves, but I think that would be more useful than the final state of the plants. Also, if people have flooded Altador, maybe they can keep count of how many moves it took to make that happen.

gah!!! i have been in the water plant trying to figure stuff out for like 3 days.......its driving me insane, i wish there was some sort of cheat, like how we figure out our star map codes

The same goes for the library - it's driving me crazy ... -__-

Don't burst your energy just yet @ the library, cause you dont even know if the clue is already out or not.
try to figure it out, but don't waste yoursefl on it just yet

I did the water plant mainly randomly, but if I changed one thing, I looked to see if the water in that room changed, and if not, I went to another room and changed one thing- if nothing changed there, I put the switch or round thing back where it was and went to the third room and tried changing one thing in that room.
