what's this thing with the library?
are we supposed to do something with it? O_o
or is it just to distract us?

honey, get some rest.. I think there is another clue, I've started a mindless testing of all altadorian pages.. mindless wandering it that vast expanse of the library seems futile.

the library is open again.. the archivist invited us to wander around... nothing has been found yet.

I think it's the same thing as when we first got our telescopes.
We were able to learn to use it, but there were no clues out.
So I doubt there will be anything for a while.

I don't know if this helps, but I was reading through the posts about the theory on neoboards and it worked for me. I turned all on in the first two rooms and then just played around with the third. Here are my results:

1st room: ++
2nd room: ++u
3rd room: dud

Is anyone perhaps paying attention to the way the water looks in the aquaducts and pipes? I think it is entirely evil to make this so random.

Either there is a pattern of how it is supposed to look, or there must be a pattern for which way to click to turn certain things on.

My water flow seems to change randomly on it's own every 5 or so minutes. Within a room, having water on, then tesing to see what changes something, is also useless, since if I click and something turns off, I can't click that dial or lever again to get it back on. Absolutely illogical! :x

EDIT: Furthermore, there seems to be no way to "opt out" if I want to start over. From what to where I don't know. Still things just reset in the middle of my experimentation, and I don't understand the reasons for this.

I think it matters which room you start in for the water puzzle. I finally started in room one and kept working until room two had water in both tanks, etc until it all worked.

I think I tried every combination at least 4 or 5 times until I did it that way.

I've also been thru every combination of wheels/switches twice now but still nothing.
Is it *really* obvious when you hit the correct combination? Do I need to keep scrolling up/down the window to ensure I see it?
Has anyone hit the right combination by starting in room 3, trying all 8 possibilities in there, then making the next change in room 2 etc or has everyone started in room 1?

Thanks
Ian

As soon as you get the right combination, you get taken to the congrats screen.

It only took me about 5 minutes - I didn't even look to see what levers I pulled.

I know this won't be very helpful, but this is what I did. In the center room I hit each dial a few times, and changed the switch to the opposite of what it was. Then I went to the right room and switched them all opposite of what they were. Then I went to the left room and again, switched them all opposite. This worked on my first try so I can't tell you at all what things looked like since I didn't have time to notice.

Since the water levels change in one of the three rooms as soon as you click anything, could someone *please* screenshot what each room should look like when finished? Which tanks should be full or empty, which chutes should be the same?

Thanks!

I second that request, hoping in all futility it is even the same for all of us.

Either that or if anyone noticed "when I did this, it changed this in this other room" since so far, as hard as I try (though I am tired) I cannot see any direct correlation as of yet, if there even is one.

I mean where is the water supposed to go? Flowing in the ducts or filling up the "wells"? This is like a really bad Myst game and I have half a mind to send Super Mario down one of those pipes to figure out the problem. :P

As said earlier, the problem is once you've finally pull the last switch you are automatically pulled out of the water works station and back to the front room. So, either you SS after each lever pull, or you have a REALLY good memory.
