Has anyone figured out what the point is of putting the neclace on the statues?

And how do you get to this "abyss" place in the archives?

First post updated with the instructions I could gather.
I've gone through the pipes cleanly w/o the flooding option so if someone could fill me in on that, I'd appreciate it.

As well as any other tidbits i might have misordered/stated.

I'm going to hold off splitting until the traffic dies down, so dont worry abut spilling over.

Aaaand remember, no need to post random *I got it* *yay* *grr! I can't get it* posts. Qualify your posts :)

any clue on what pattern you need for the water? i've had one water in each room, all the water in the far left room, and i'm just very confused. I also can't get it to flood so as to reset it.

I got it, I think you had to get rid of all the water, instead of filling them all up.

Proof

I'll keep you all updated to what happens.

The spectral Minitheus steps aside, letting you pass. "You have proven yourself worthy by protecting Altador," he intones.

Ok. I think I've figured out how to flood Altador. When I had every lever up and every wheel(I know that's not the word but I'm blanking on what it's called right now) straight up, it flooded. This happened four times.

Unfortuantely, all tipped/down doesn't get it fixed, and nothing else I've tried has either.

The valves form a cross in the center. When they are straight (up/down and right/left) I believe the valve is open and when the cross is tilted they are closed. The switches are up for open. If you put all valves and switches as open you will flood Altador. So it you want to see that or reset your switches to the begining, that was the way for me.

OK, I figured out how to flood Altador GUARANTEED:

You have to turn everything to the UP position. The levers especially, and the wheels have to be in the + position instead of the x position. Try it and see.
