I'm kind of half and half on this.

On one hand it is the color used to say "Hey! You! I have this expensive color because I'm rich and can afford it." so I can see why its not given out by other means.

But, considering when it gets retired from the HT the prices are going to go berserk since there is only one way to get it... I think there should be at least two or three ways to get it so that doesn't happen.

Hmm, I know people who have been able to save up and get that Royal, maraquan, etc. (whatever) pb and it is wonderful to know you really earned your pet's paint job.

There are people, who for whatever reason, don't have alot of time to spend on the site, hence don't have the million plus needed for their dream pet. For them the FFQ, if you're lucky enough to get one, can be the answer.

Personally (and selfishly, I admit), I would like to see all the "lab-only" colors available via FFQ. Let's face it, most people never get one of these quests -- they seem to be pretty rare. I have been lucky enough to get one and then found that my "dream" pet color - robot - was not available. So my quest is just sitting. It's ok as an Insurance policy in case that wretched Boochi comes visiting again and this time doesn't miss. Or if I take a total fit over a color suddenly that is available.

I am one of the people who've played games and saved every np to paint my pets. But I really wanted that robot jetsam!

And before you say "lab ray" ... I already thought about it. Not worth it to zap one pet (my battle pet), risk losing levels/defense stats (he's at 200/200 boosts) and risk having him changed to female or another species.

Actually your first paragraph is rather wrong in my case.

I am wanting to paint my Krawk Male Royal. WHy you ask? Not to show that I have alot of points, but to better play who I play on Neopets. I like to be the Spellcaster. I am the self proclaimed Spellcaster of Battlers Pride (NUMBER ONE BATTLE GUILD! WOOO!) and what have you.

I'd like my Krawk, that I got lucky and adopted from the pound, to reflect that. My Chia does, and it's a Halloween with a Furwitch, and I'd like to have a Royal Krawk as a spellcaster too.

I do understand the whole thing with keeping it out of the FFQ, but like I said I would love to see 'catches', but yet rewards. I'd love to see all of these colors like earned to be had at the FFQ, or give nto you you here and there.

I think the faerie fountain quest should allow every color. It's silly to get the quest and then the faerie says, "Oh you've gained access to this magical fountain of wonders! You can paint your pet any color! Any color at all! . . .well except this - this - and well this"

Honestly, it's easier to rack up the 1.75mill than to get one of those quests anyway.

It is the random zanniness that made me first fall in love with Neopets, and I love it when they stick with those odd rules. The Lutari hating the pound was priceless!

The Faerie Fountain Quest should be a great great great thing. The whole "Random Event, the great equalizer" thing, but it shouldn't have EVERY color.

Some colors should only be gained in specific ways. Malevolent Sentient Poogle Plushie should only be through the lab ray after all, and not all colors should be money oriented. It is not all about the NP. While I think there is nothing wrong with a few big "I paid for this!" colors ( I actually like them) I wish that the royal color would have been a color that you could not buy or trade to another account, but awarded when earned through Knighthood or something like that.

Maybe they will have a color that is only earned through plot and awarded like they did the ice bori (the ability to morph a pre-existing pet). Colors that are a great puzzle.... *dreaming*

No. There's no way in the world I would ever agree that MSP, and even robot, should be lab only. MSP especially. They NEVER released more poogles on poogle day last year, and as a person who paid for about 5 magical poogle toys, it's gotten beyond ridiculous at this point. They went from about 300k when I started to 400k, then 600, and now they're nearly 1 million np just for the infintessimal chance that the lab mmight give you MSP. As much as I hate royal in general, would like nothing more than every abomination to be wiped off the face of Neopia, and as someone who did pay for the uniquely magnificient royal flotsam, I too believe they should be attainble from the fountain faerie. There's people who've been playing for years who've never had a quest from the fountain faerie. It's not as if she gives them out all willy nilly, or even that they're free like getting a draik trans or faerie pb from a RE. Loosen up a bit and give people a break.

I don't think that Royal or Darigan (or baby, for that matter) should be available from the FFQ. If you can buy the brush in the HT, it shouldn't be available any other way. The others -- grey, faerie (which used to be HT but now isn't), Maraquan, whatever. Let people get those from the faerie if they want.

I also disagree with the idea that people "earn" a FFQ. They don't. It's random luck. And I don't think random luck and an item purchase of 40k (or whatever) entitle anyone to one of the most expensive paint jobs on the site.

I don't agree with that only because I had an account which would probably be just over 3 years old now that I logged into one day and I had been frozen for ''postiong duscussing etc. pornography"!!!! i hadnt been online in like a week either... emailed neopets like a million times and nothing! now have a new accuont thats only 3 months old so I can see your point but some people are dedicated hard working neopians that have just been hard done by etc.

I say let them all be available there, FFQ are rare enough. The "it's royal, therefore should be expensive" argument is inconsistent with just about every other paintbrush that isn't just a color change, as none of those are aquired by means that have anything to do with their results. And the "it's random, they don't deserve it" thing is lacks consistency too, as enough luck can get you everything and anything on the site anyway.


And to be honest, it strikes me as if most opponents simply spitefully want to be as exclusive as possible about their own (to be) royal pets. 5 years on neo before you can get it? Come on, it's not that pretty. Just a bunch of clothes really.
