ya know, maybe we need to have a petpet and go to the petpet shop or something.

I was wondering that myself.

A bit of a warning to you all. Someone started a rumor that you have to buy the petpets that the Shopkeeper and the Fauna statue have in order to get the next clue, trying to start a false inflation of the petpets.

Doubt it. It's just Jhudora with the Cooking Pot Faerie's mask on her face.

Though, I think someone tried taking the three items you got from the Astronomy Club to the cooking pot but it didn't work.

The petpet thing wouldn't be fair, though. The Altadorian petpets are bound to be expensive (especially if lots of users fall for the new Neoboard scam) and not everyone would be able to obtain one to get the clue... I don't think TNT would do something like this, but then, this is the first plot I've really been involved in. The other was as a lame supporter of the Maraquan army, LOL. So while I think it's unfair and unlikely, something along these lines may have been implemented in the past. Although, to my understanding, in the LDP (by far the most complicated and involved), it was mostly time-consuming, not costly.

Hmm... it did just occur to me, however, that several of the items that I procured for the CoM plot were awfully expensive... I guess TNT really doesn't pull any punches!!!

Yeah, but CoM was a War not a puzzle plot like this one has been... I don't think they would play it that way, in all honesty.

Dude they were expensive even before any of that. Unless you happen to be good a restocking and have high speed internet so you could even have a chance of buying them at the store. (I am not in possesion of either of those things :x ) Anyway, so yeah I just really wanted a hydruplit and eventually gave up. But it would be silly to have to try and buy them I think.

If there is going to be anything bought from the petpet shop, it will be like the item for the Collector was: an item everyone can get in the shop, and under certain conditions.

I remember back in the Mystery Island plot, when people were trying to make the potion to free Jhudia, the price of the relevent items skyrocketed once people figured out the combo. It made the avatar almost impossible to get.

Possible beginnings of the clue?

Tue Apr 25, 2006 3:31 am

OK, I went into the petpet shop, and of course it was sold out.

But, then, I started hitting refresh, hoping for something.

An altalaphus came up. So I tried haggling for it - a couple of times. But each time I tried to haggle, it told me that it was sold out. When I offered the exact same amount that they wanted for it - I got it.

Thing is, it didn't take "8 minutes" for the "restock" - it was about every third refresh.

And an altalaphus is the petpet sitting on the basket the Gatherer is carrying.

So far I have not found anything further though - and yes, I gave the petpet to my Eyrie. I'm continuing to look - oh, and for the person who thought there was only one link to the Petpet shop? I found two - the image of the shop, and the image of the sign for the shop.

I cannot get anything to come up. Maybe it is just a glitch to need to pay the exact amount?

That was me- and I tabbed around completely another time, instead of stopping in the middle, and noticed the second link. I just got excited and hoped it would lead to the next clue. :D

How did you refresh? Did you hit the storekeeper? Or hit the refresh button?

I hit the storekeeper each time. :)

And, frankly, now no matter how often I refresh - nothing else comes up.

I've tried it with the petpet attached to my pet, and with it just in my inventory.

Still looking for other places though.

I was thinking - perhaps it has something to do with the description of the altalaphous - A bit dense is this Petpet, but it will follow your Neopet to the ends of Neopia. It enjoys nothing more than eating the breads and cheeses found in Altador.

I've tried in the food shop though - so far no breads or cheeses have come up.
