Here's a good tip for anyone trying to beat Insane: Don't buy Blast potions. I accidentally hit blast potion when I was trying to use a healing potion and was killed by a Skeleton Knight. :x

It really depends on how good you are at the game, if you have a guide, and how fast you play. Asa newbie at the game, despite you being on normal mode, expect the first-second act to take a bit. Your just getting used to the game. If your a slow to catch on, the third act may take you a while too, but the last two acts should be no problem by that time-hopefully.

OK thanks for the reassurance!

Also I noticed some people play evil difficulty a few times and can win prizes.
How many times can you win the prizes on each difficulty? Also if you beat insane, and get say the staff(worst prize i believe), can you replay it and try for another item? Or is it just Evil difficulty that gets this opportunity?

You can only get the prize from insane ONCE. It sucks, I know. I got the SoRF as my prize... >_O Not pleased. But both of the other difficultys can be played as many times as you wish, to get as many of the prizes as you wish. I play evil now for income! :D

i hve another question

would it be smarter to have hunting mode only for maps without bosses, train on those for a while, then walk to the boss on normal mode so you don't get injured much when walking towards the boss?

I heard in Insane mode its best to keep hunting on forever.

Don't know for Evil

also does anyone know average times per difficulty for an average player?

First, whats your current skill set?

Second: Make sure you are fully stocked on potions. Buy as many as you can in town, and save up the higher potions, don't use those. Since your pretty much as high as you need to be, just travel to him in normal mode, and avoid fights. If you are low on the higher healing potions, then fight some more just to get those first.

Is it true that the Fathers Sword does more damage to Terask II than the Sword of Apocalypse?

After a few failed attempts and loss of interest in the past, Ive started my very first game of NQII, and on dial up at that. I started about three or four days ago, and I just reached the Haunted Woods a few hours ago. It kind of blows my mind when I see that the fastest completed games on Normal mode only took something like 8 or 9 hours o_o What is the actual average time it takes to complete your first full game on Normal? I know Im going to be slower since in on dial up, but seeing 8 hour completions makes me feel crazily inadequate. Especially because I can afford to devote pathetic amounts of time per day to hardcore playing.

The only thing that keeps me entertained, is because instead of comparing it to the Matrix (blah) Ive decided to compare it to a Star Trek holodeck episode :) The holodecks are always doing something crazy, so now I can indulge my 'Im saving the Enterprise!' fantasies.

Well that, and I want some avatars.

No!!!
They changed the game a while back and Fathers Sword now does a maximum of 100 damage to KT2. SoA does 144 I think

Don't feel inadequet. :P Those fastest games were done by people who stayed on for that long for a straight amount of time, purely for the sake of getting the fastest time trophy.

The average time really depends on how much time you can devote to neopets a day. If you devote at least 1-2 hours a day, you'll be done with your game pretty quick, especially if you have maps. :)
