edit: um i don't know why its not showing up as an image, and when i checked, the image has changed, at first i was a huge 210x50 version of the old codes, now its looking like a keyboard

Yeah, I noticed they had changed it this morning.

I got one that was really hard to read though, it was all squashed and funny.

yuck, i changed my mind, these are worse...

i really don't know about the ones in the shops, since i'm a hopeless restocker, due to my fantabulously bad reflexes and my 46.6k dialup connection

I think some of the new login codes look cool. I got some rather neat looking ones that looked like raised balloon letters this morning. I also got some harder to read bubble fade codes. I wonder if these are just going to be used for the login or if they are going to be in the shops as well. I haven't had much trouble with the shops once I got used to them, so it doesn't really matter much to me.

Would this new form of showing the letters really make it harder for programs to read them or is it just to look nice?

Probably making it harder for bots to read, since the text is more complex this time, rather than just normal letters obscured by lines.

Why can't they just make it 3 letters.. It won't make much of a difference.

I prefer the old codes, these ones the texts keep changing! I even had one where the letters faded at the bottom which meant you could basically only see the top half of the letters. Some of them are easier to deal with (where the text is big and bold) but on the whole I'm finding it more difficult to deal with!

i like it though how they are larger, it make it easier to read, but the fading ones are annoying.

they keep changing the codes, so they probably are in the process of updating them, the one i said looks like ballons, now looks like a keyboard

Well some of them are ok but a few you can't read. What if you get thoses three times in a row and are blocked from logging in

you could just refresh to get a new code

Ducky, thanks for the graphic list. I saw people posting on the boards very late last night, but didn't try it myself. The 4th one down is a little hard to read and the bottom one? My eyes are way too old for!

But you know, I do think this is an enhancement to the security code. Neopets did what they could to accomodate everyone when they first started the code and it was in different colors with the lines going through the code. There were so many people who just could not read that one, so they changed it to the black/grey/white.

Maybe there's a new bot they found out about. Like the rumor (only because I can't confirm if it's true or not) that there's a new ab'er that can read the new magic code for shops.

It would make sense that there would be a bot to be able to read the log in code. Therefore, it makes sense to change, randomly, the font used for that code to foil any new bot.
