i am well aware that neopets don't allow people to use multiple accounts to ply games etc,but lets say if its the school library or maybe a lan shop, ppl will be loggin in using the same ip address.wounldn't that be violating the rules?also, lets say if a family of 5 ppl are plying neopets on the same pc everyday with 5 diff accounts, wouldn't they get frozen?how does TNT rule out the 'real' plyers frm those that abuse it?

edit:found some terrible grammar mistakes.apologies my fellow readers.

The thing that gets people frozen quicker than any other violation is abbreviating short words, such as "play" and "don't", that don't need abbreviation. This isn't the neoboards. We aren't impressed with your ability to save keystrokes.

If you aren't breaking any multiple account rules, then don't worry about it. If you are abusing a loophole, then you should be frozen.

Not true. I've always marvelled at some people's complete and utter laziness and idiocy. If only I was that un-talented...

TNT knows that people share computers, it would be beyond absurd to assume that, say, a family of 5 could afford 5 computers and 5 IP/ISP. Everyone should have their own email -- that's one way multiple accounts are looked for, I believe.

Another thing that might help and it's something I did when my roomie decided she wanted her own account was to write to support. I gave them the names of my 3 accounts, which was my main, pet names, etc. and my email. I also gave her neo account name, pet names, her email. I got a very nice reply -- which I did keep a copy of. This way it's documented that x number of people use the same computer and heaven forbid there is a misunderstanding at least you have something on record.

As to using a public computer? That can be a little tricky. I know that people using internet cafes have been frozen. I don't use a public computer (library, etc.), so I don't know all the ins and outs of that issue. Again, maybe writing to support and telling them that it is the only place you can log in or you log in from your home and from whatever other location could help?

What doesn't help is putting something on your lookup -- TNT I believe addressed that in an editorial not too long ago. If they're going to freeze for multi-accounting, they're not going to go read your lookup.

I know that it always looks suspicious transferring items from one account to another, but do you think it would even be noticed if i were to take the money and items that i made in my old account and transfer them to my new one?
This is complicated even more by the fact that my old account is still technically under 13, so i cannot even give items as i would to a neofriend... i would need to use the trading post or something of that sort...

any opinoins on this?

I know that I used a school computer for many years, and someone else at the school used the same computers. I never had a problem there, but I also know that the cookie was saved on a server, not the comp's CPU. I haven't tried on a public computer, but there used to be an option in the User Preferences about cookies, I think. Make certain that you log out afterwards, if you do.
