Thank you everconfused for your advice. I had forgotten about the Windows System Tools like Disk Cleanup and Defragmenter.

Did you install a driver for the keyboard?

My keyboard works fine. The only thing that happens when i click the Print screen key is the pointer disappears for a second.
NM: I finally figured out I need to hold ALT for it to work.

My new comp freezes frequently, usually when I have some programs opened. However, everything worked fine with my previous comp. I suspect it is something to do with the memory, but the memory is much larger than my previous comp. The weird thing is, it often freezes, but never crashes.

What are the possible causes of this problem, and how to solve them?

By the way, my current setting in System>Performance>Advanced is:
Processor Scheduling - Programs
Memory Usage - Programs
Total paging file size for all drives - 1536 MB
Custom size - 1536-3072 MB
Recommended - 1534 MB
everything else unchecked

Another thing is that some of the windows error report has got to do with run32dll.

They are all by default. Maybe it's because the custom size is higher than recommended?

Try Ctrl-Alt-Deleting into Task Manager, then Click on the CPU and Mem Usage headings to sort them from high to low.
If anything really sticks out, (ignore System Idle Process), then find what that program is.

If you don't recognize it, Google the process first (to see if it's a virus or something), then try and close it.
If it's a program that you know...well, it's just a memory hog.

And if *that* doesn't solve your problem, then it's probably something else.

if its a actuall physical memory issue that could cause it was well
I would sugested a program called memtest-86 (google it)
you can get a bootable cd image you can burn and boot your computer with. It will physically test the memory in your machine, independent of any software and tell you if you have a physical memory problem, not just a software problem

Does svchost count?

I think I should mention also the fact that when my comp freezes, the taskbar stops responding. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work, nor does pressing the Windows button on the keyboard.

It may not be a memory problem afterall, but possibly a virus/malware/spyware/trojan. I tried HijackThis and saved the log, maybe this will help:

843: winsysban is a trojan. (remove the following items using hijackthis:
Code:
C:\windows\winsysban6.exe
c:\windows\winsysban7.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsysban] c:\windows\winsysban7.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsysupd] c:\windows\winsysupd7.exe

You also seem to have both the windows and MSN messenger running (same service, in the end). Disable the windows one :P

svchost is a legitimate part of Windows.

Thanks a lot, but unfortunately for me, it's too late... :(
for some reason I deleted a file (I think its name was ntfl or something) since it was the only file in C:\, hence it looks suspicious. It was actually a critical Windows file.
The next time I reboot my comp, the file couldn't be found, so Windows couldn't start, so I ended up reinstalling Windows. I mistook the reinstallation as reformatting my Windows, so I almost freaked out. You have no idea how relieved I was when I found my 40GB folders...

Good thing my comp is working perfectly now, and winsysban deleted. Thanks a lot :)

My Dad needs some help in Excel.

He is doing receipts on the computer and wants to know whether or not there is a way for the computer to tell if something is a food or non-food and only add the food amount up.

Here's an example, the data would actually look like this.

Bacon Food £10.00
Gas Non £8.00
Eggs Food £5.00

We want the total cost of just the foods, how do we get that?

Code:
=SUMIF(B1:B3,"Food",C1:C3)

B1:B3 is the column it will search (in this case the Food/Non column)
"Food" is what it is looking for
C1:C3 is what it will add up if the criteria is met

Help! I just reinstalled Windows XP, and added a new firewall. Previous firewall was Norton, now it's ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Now Neopets won't work. This is the first time I've used ZoneAlarm Security Suite. My Windows firewall is off, so that's not the cause. I've tried adding neopets.com to trusted zone, in the expert tab, and the zone tab in firewall. Nothing works. I keep getting the "ERROR : Oops you have been directed to this page from the wrong place! If you KEEP getting this error, chances are you have some security settings enabled that are not letting you play Neopets correctly."

I've tried searching for an answer, but had no luck. Please help me! The only way I can play is to turn off my firewall...

Hi caudeceus

I don't have the whole ZA suite, but I do use ZA firewall and I have had the same thing happen with Neo. Drove me nuts. I put neopets.com, images.neopets.com and even swf.neopets.com in my trusted list. That didn't do the trick.

Go to your site list where you have neopets.com and make sure there's a check mark, not an X in all the fields - Mobile Code, Cookie Control, Web Bugs and Private Header.

That's what turned out to be my problem anyway. Neo doesn't seem to like it if you have third party, web bugs or private header X'd out. Which is really annoying.

Hmm...I ticked everything there like you said. Still doesn't let me play. :( I'll look more into it later. I have to get off the computer now.

EDIT: OK, got it to work! Thanks for the help!
