The WC converter gave me an electric blue paint brush, which is labeled as "retired". I thought that "retired" meant that the item isn't given out anymore. true?

I finished a WC picture, and all I got was this lousy electric blue paint brush.

I think retired means that no more will be restocked anywhere- the ones left in Neopia are the only ones left, and when they're gone, they're gone.

Since when are paintbrushes restocked?

It means they are no longer given out as random events.

By the way, what's a WC Converter?

When you have collected a whole map at the World Challenge games you can convert it to items and NPs

I converted and got a 'retired' lost desert paint brush today, and I get stuff like blackened banana from grumpy king all the time. So not really sure what they mean by retired:P

Yeah, the meaning of 'retired' is a bit unclear when it comes to paintbrushes, or items that were never stocked in any shops or the hidden tower in general.

Does it mean you can't get them from RE anymore? That you can't get them from the fruit machine? That'd be good to know.

You can still get retired paint brushes from both REs and things like the Fruit Machine. In the case of the Faerie pb, it was labelled retired when they stopped selling it in the hidden tower. For the others I have no idea!

But basically "retired" on a pb means absolutely nothing! :)

there is one exception to your theory...(possibly more) The stone paintbrush is now retired and that cannot be used anymore!

Yes, I forgot about that =D Stone and Glass are indeed properly retired as in they cannot be used. However, you can still get them from the likes of the Fruit Machine.

I guess that means my fantastic paint brush will not increase in value.

All non-hidden tower, non starter paintbrushes have been increasing in price gradually for a while. Part of that is inflation ofcourse, but depending on how items are aquired, you can still buy more of some sort of things with the NP than before.

Yup, even the glass paintbrush is slowly inflating.
